UPDATE: Douglas County Republicans say they’re sorry if you’re offended, otherwise known as the weakest of apologies:
To note, Allen said he is responsible for the content of the Facebook Page. @SheriffSpurlock, Douglas County's Republican Sheriff, called on whoever in leadership responsible for the post to immediately resign.

It’s a (very) small win for decency, we guess.

So are we. Is this the thinking behind the Republican DougCo commissioners firing the health department over a swiss-cheese opt-outable “mask mandate?” We have no reason to think otherwise unless every Republican with a conscience in Douglas County says it’s not. Once again, we’re obliged to check and make sure we’re not looking at Douglas County Georgia’s Facebook page. This is offensive enough to any cross section of the general public that a county Republican Party posting it is a news event–otherwise it would be better ignored and the source dismissed as the irrelevant fringe.
But it’s not the fringe. This is the party in power in Douglas County.
How low can you go, DougCo? Please, don’t answer that.

They are trying to get Chuck Woolery to move there.
It's a long story.
I can't wait to see the cartoon when Polis, y'know, actually issues a statewide mask order!
Or the hospitalization and death rates spike because they opted out and fired TriCounty health.
The right question, with a very short answer, is what isn't wrong with DougCo Republicans?
Whatever it is, it's been wrong for a LONG time, and I'm looking forward to seeing that change somewhat in 2020 thanks to the hard work of a lot of good people.
Masks work.
Remember how worried we were that all of the Black Lives Matter protesting was going to cause a huge spike in Covid cases? Hundreds of thousands of people in the street, yelling and marching together…perfect recipe for disease spread, right?
Contact tracing tells a different story. Because most protesters wore masks, kept hands clean, were out in the open air, and tried to maintain a social distance, there have been no huge upticks in cases in cities that saw the biggest protests. However, in cities and areas that re-opened bars and restaurants early, allowed for public maskless events, (like political rallies) indoors, cases…and deaths are increasing.
There has been a swap in ages of those sick and hospitalized from CV19. Before, elders in nursing facilities were most at risk. They’re still at risk, but have been following CDC guidelines. Younger people are a much larger percentage of those sick, hospitalized, and dying from the virus. Most epidemiologists in the following articles attribute this to large parties and indoor events in states that are “re-opening”.
Slate – It doesn’t look like the protests are causing a coronavirus spike

In this case, it appears the picture is worth a whole lot more than 1,000 words.
Good thing Gov. Polis does not appear to be willing to take official actions to respond to personal attacks.
