Michael Bloomberg

  • by: JO

I wonder how local political sophisticates would respond if they read in the next eight weeks or so that Michael Bloomberg had formed some sort of exploratory committee with a view towards running for president.

Do they know who he is?

Does he have a reputation?

Does his religion matter, or is it perceived to matter?

Does his place of origin matter?

Does the size of his bank account, and how it got to be that way, matter?

  1. I wonder how local political sophisticates would respond…

Your post is about the prospect of a Bloomberg independent candidacy in which, to my knowledge, nobody in the state of Colorado has any staked-out poisition. So why start that post with your usual snottiness and derision about “local political sophisticates”?

Seriously, JO, you seem to be an engaged person who knows a fair bit about politics; why are you so intent on making sure we can’t take you seriously? Even your rants about eliminating the U.S. Senate wouldn’t be met with so much negativity if you didn’t infuse every single post with your annoying goth-kid-esque “I’m more jaded and savvy than you” snottiness.

  2. Mayor of New York, beat the local term-limits law so he could run for a third term, last time I looked he’s Jush, doesn’t matter to me, place of origin – his Mommy’s tummy?? – I don’t get this one, Bank acct is big made a ton of $$$ on Bloomberg News (which spawned Dylan Rattigan).

Yes, important. Why? Because of mixed record of self-funders last cycle. Meg – lost, Carly – lost, Linda – lost, Rick Scott – won.

OK, so JO how would you respond if you heard he had set up an exploratory …

Considering that you probably consider yourself a local political sophisticate, answer your own question. Inquiring minds want to know.
