Here’s President Donald Trump speaking today with his favorite Fox and Friends in a clip eagerly shared by Colorado Democrats, assuring the morning agit-prop faithful that Sen. Cory Gardner of Colorado is fully on board with jamming another U.S Supreme Court Justice into Trump’s legacy:
TRUMP: I think it’s going to help. I think it’s going to help Cory, I do. I think it’s going to help Cory Gardner. He’s a great guy by the way and very, very loyal to the party and loyal [to his state].
With that, the expectation is set at the very top! If Gardner “goes squish” now, the 30% of Colorado voters ready to follow Trump to whatever America looks like on the other side turn on him. That’s a scenario wherein Gardner experiences a small moral redemption on the way to certain defeat. The far more likely outcome, of course, is that Gardner recites his own version of Mitch McConnell’s talking points and does exactly what he’s told.
“Very, very loyal to the party.” You’re not going to see that in any pro-Gardner advertising.

"“Very, very loyal to the party.” You’re not going to see that in any pro-Gardner advertising."
And probably not any Hick ads, either.
It will be up to some Hick surrogate to make that kind of gaffe hurt.
Won’t matter whether Hickenlooper advertises this endorsement or not. The election is baked in at this point. The only people who don’t know how they are going to vote are deaf, blind and dumb. What it will clarify is what a total prick Gardner is if he votes to confirm.
“The election is baked in at this point.”
But there is a campaign in progress and there will be advertising to, if nothing else, keep it baked in.
I've been making calls for Diane Mitsch Bush for many weeks. You'd be amazed how many people (among the few who answer their phones) fall in this category. Many folks are different from us – very different. They don't know who's running for what, and know even less about ballot issues, I'm sure.
The essence of a narcissistic political strategist: it helps me, so of course it will help Cory.
Parties value loyalty, but as Realist points out most in Colorado don't value parties. Ultimately it hurts Cardboard Cory.
Stay the course, Senator. Moldy Anus will thank you!
But nobody else will.
Cory is a full trumpist and is going to vote for whatever the orange rind wants him to.
Cory just released a statement saying that he is going to vote to confirm.
Mitch says a vote, "this year". I have not heard him say, "before the election".
Mitch usually parses his words as well as anyone.
