If you’re born a Catholic, one is still counted on the membership rolls. However, I’m a “non-theist.” I don’t accept labels created by somebody else.
Sure, you’re counted by the Catholics on the official roles. That’s why you are an apostate rather than a heretic. Don’t you remember this from theology? Heretics are semi-forgivable for being wrong because they’ve never known the truth. Yeah, they need to “sit down and shut up” if they question anyone of the true faith, but they don’t need to die for it. They just need to know their place.
