Dubya Cancels Denver Speech; Julian Assange Laughs Maniacally

  • by: Colorado Pols

Just up at KKTV, how interesting:

Former President George W. Bush has canceled a speaking engagement in Denver after learning that Julian Assange would also be speaking.

Statement from David Sherzer, spokesman for George W. Bush:

“Six months ago, President Bush accepted an invitation to speak to the YPO Global Leadership Summit in Denver on February 26, 2011. This week, upon learning that Julian Assange had recently been invited to address the same summit, President Bush decided to cancel his appearance. The former president has no desire to share a forum with a man who has willfully and repeatedly done great harm to the interests of the United States.”

We assume that Julian Assange of Wikileaks would have been speaking via satellite, as he’s got several very good reasons to not be able to physically enter the United States right now.

And once again, did you know George W. Bush was coming to town?

  1. Bush still dosen’t get the whole “irony” thing:

” a man who has willfully and repeatedly done great harm to the interests of the United States.”

That’s so bad it’s almost an Onion piece.

    1. the holding-hands-with-Saudi-prince photo below coupled with the young Saudi not-a-prince plotting to bomb Dubya’s house in Dallas is beyond what you can invent.

  2. “The former president has no desire to share a forum with a man who has willfully and repeatedly done great harm to the interests of the United States.”

The statement then concluded, “That’s the former President’s job, and he’ll be damned if he’s going to be shown up by some foreigner.”

        1. The Rs should probably be grateful they lost the WH in 2008.  It’s really hard for any President to look good digging out from under the mess that moron left.
