If Scott reduces their fine by 90% it will still be in line with virtually every other similar situation for at least the last 15 years. This goes for either the FEC or SOS.
As for SOS, both Donetta and Bernie significantly reduced legitimate fines for both party’s candidates.
Did Dan Maes get a reduction in his fees?
His initial fine was basically cut in half. But if 20th thinks the responsible thing to do is beg the government to throw out 90 percent of your fine, that’ll sure teach the scofflaws!
It should be noted that even if the state lets the Larimer Republicans pay only a tiny fraction of what they owe, it’ll still be more money than they have in the bank.

The FEC fines Colorado Dem Party $105k for violations that include, among many, the illegal expenditure of $3.1M against Allard in ’02. And it took them 5 yrs to do it.
Why doesn’t anyone look into the connection of fromer Larimer County GOP Chairman Larry Carillo and Northern Colorado Tea Party Leader Lesley Hollywood? Lesley’s real name is Lesley Schoonmaker and she goes by the alias of Lesley Hollywood so people cannot investigate her sordid lifestyle and past. She is very close to Carillo, and how has see funded her operations without working and being seperated from her husband for almost 6 months? Wonder if some of that money went to pay her drug habit?

Nothing like the Automobile Dealers Assn reduction from 255K to @ 15K! Remember, the SOS did not file the suit against me. It was a private interest. Hmmmm…right before the primary. Wonder who? If the SOS doesn’t allow “unknown” for occupation then why is it in the drop down? That simple error cost us thousands.
