From the Rocky Mountain News:
U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo will face a challenge in the Republican primary from a local Hispanic man angered by Tancredo’s high-profile campaign against illegal immigrants.
Juan Botero, a Jefferson County resident who has worked as a communications consultant to U.S. Sen. Wayne Allard, is expected to announce his candidacy today at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden. Botero confirmed Thursday he will be a candidate and said he disagrees with Tancredo’s approach to immigration.
He said he did not want to comment further before his news conference today.

Interesting timing… it seems he’ll have to petition to get on the caucus ballot, and even if he does, he hasn’t a snowball’s chance of getting the necessary 30%.
“YIPPIE!”
Yes, let’s get all excited and go to a yawning festival.
BLOOD I want to see BLOOOOOOD!!
LOL!
i cant say im surprised. I also won t be surprised when Tom takes 75% of the primary votes.
Butter substitute, I’ll wager you a six-pack of Coors that Tancredo takes 80 percent or more of the primary. The real test is whether this guy will be able to petition onto the ballot because I’m sure he won’t get the 30 percent necessary at the convention to go on.
Oh he’ll get on the ballot, oh yes, he WILL get on the ballot.
This one is laughable.
forgive me, Druid, if I question your credentials as an analyst of Republican politics.
You don’t have any.
“This one is laughable.”
I MORE than agree! TO FUN!

On your mark, get set, go!
Botero, 42, who lives in Denver, said he and his wife and four children are moving to Highlands Ranch, so he will live in the 6th Congressional District, which spans Denver’s southern suburbs from Centennial west into Jefferson County. Botero said he will probably petition to get on the ballot. The primary is set for Aug. 8.

Speaking of one-trick ponies, someone get Mr. Botero a map of the district so that he can ensure his yet-to-be-purchased house will actually be in District 6.
And make sure he gets his license & voter precinct changed… perhaps he can get some advice on this from Peggy “I live in both places” Lamm.
