He is quite possibly the least telegenic politician I’ve ever seen. Usually those ads are great for the person in office, but he looks more like Curly from the Three Stooges than a statewide elected official.
Did some media person forget some of us don’t own wide screen TV’s?

All these people that come here for school, want to stay and start companies here, and we force them to go home and build companies & jobs at home. To compete with the companies here in the U.S. Why???
But the article goes on to point out that their home countries offer much better opportunities now, and of course don’t have nearly as high a cost of living as California. So the desire to retain foreign-born talent will require more than immigration reform.
Perhaps this should be an opportunity to see if we can do something about growing American talent.
But that requires we put in the effort and money that a quality educational system for all requires.
People already here have been running around with their hair on fire over the threat of whatever they thought the real America was getting swamped by immigrants of a “different” kind ever since our nation’s birth. At the same time, immigration has always driven the economic engine. The more things change…

Certainly as Aristotle said the cost of living is much lower there, so I’d expect salaries to be lower as well. When this was happening to manufacturing workers you said they should just retrain. Now that it’s happening to programmers your tune has changed. Learn to compete in a global economy or find another line of work.
Here, I’ll throw some buzzwords at you.

No one gets to stand in the way of progress, and no one should try to.
After Governor Hickenlooper signs it, it will be law in Colorado that first-johns will have an opportunity to go to class to learn about the unintended consequences of prostitution, in exchange for avoiding a permanent record.

Chris Romer is Broke

Hey Team Romer, never a good thing to claim you cannot make payroll when you roll out two new ads this week. The only thing it does is freak out your staff members and make you seem like you cannot manage your money.
Just Saying… Hard to talk about budgets and the city when you are claiming you cannot pay the staff you have and cannot budget.
If they don’t end up getting paid by Romer, he’ll have Union Taxi take care of transportation, and they can have unlimited free cupcakes for the duration.
It’s sad, really, when Chris Romer is subject to so much negativity.

He’s paying the staff. According to Curtis Hubbard of the paper that shall not be named, Romer’s camp said they wouldn’t have taken on the staff in they couldn’t meet payroll. Although they did mention James was helping shoulder some of the burden.
It’s just a fundraising gimmick, so it’s not like they can’t afford to have a massive staff and a big TV presence. Whether or not claiming Chris Romer’s campaign is going broke is a smart fundraising gimmick is a different question entirely.

Ok so he just is trying to what scare his donors into the fact that he needs money. Desperation is the first no no in fundraising.
Aw come on. He was even starting to grow on me a teeny, tiny little bit. Not that I stopped hating his guts or anything, but I was sort of starting to accept that he might be not completely, irredeemably loathsome now that he’s employing some Mejia team members who I really, really, really respect.
For Pete’s sake. That’s incredibly inappropriate. Not just the ad spending before payroll spending, but what about his team’s privacy? He’s basically disclosing that anyone who works for him is supposed to be paid Friday and may not be–not exactly social security numbers, but it’s still private financial information that his employees might not like to see in an email blast.
And I thought this guy was the candidate running on his financial management skills…? Starting to sympathize with Hancock’s constant mentions of the “evil investment banker” thing.
at all the good things investment banking has done for America just in these past 2 years, the choice is clear. Romer for Mayor !

Make him own it, and explain the lack of consumer protection at the state level. The best foreclosure protection laws are state laws -just not Colorado’s state laws. The best consumer finance protections (so far) are at the state level.
How many consumer finance /banking protections did Romer support when he was in a position to do it in the legislature? I couldn’t find any when I looked it up. But that internet is a tricky thing, maybe I just missed it. Just like I couldn’t find his support for mobile food delivery when FNB was doing it, just when the cupcake people anted to do it.

One of the newer members of the press corps began to ask Lord Vader if they could see pictures of the body. Unfortunately for him, he choked on his words and died. Rumors that Lord Vader appeared agitated at the question are completely unfounded.
Israel (awesome back story) and Denmark rocked. Better than any from the 1st semi-final. (We now have the 10 from each semi-final plus 5 that go direct to the final for the 25 competing Saturday.)
Ireland (the one most think will win), Austria, Sweden, Bulgaria, & Romania were all really good.
While Bosnia & Herzegovina and Moldavia (coneheads – really?) made a strong attempt, Portugal easily retains the title of worst act – by far.
And for Ralphie – The Twins from Slovakia, I think, did not hit a single note. You would think random chance would have had them hitting a couple.
