    1. Does BothWaysBob have an original thought in his head or does he just get pulled along by the coat-tails of the Republican Elites?

To pick up Lt. Governor Norton to run as Lt. Governor?  Is that even legal if she has served two terms already?  What a miserable campaign this has turned into.  Just a year and half ago he was unbeatable and now he can’t do anything right.

        1. Even though I am not a Bill Owens fan and have not been since i first met him in 1978, Owens was stuck with Rogers in his first term.  At that time, political parties chose their Lt. Gov. nominees independently of the Gov. nominees and the Gov. nominees had no say in the matter.  So, Rogers wasn’t Owens’ Lt. Gov., but the Republican Party’s nominee.  Norton was Owens pick and he is stuck with her.  Interesting question as to whether if she is elected again, she can serve both terms with Beauprez or he must pick someone new for his second term.  Hmm.

          1.   Assuming that Both Ways wins the election (a hypothetical which is virtually inconceivable), I think he’d have to dump Jane after one term because of the constitutional term limits.
Since we’re talking about far-fetched hypothetical scenarios, imagine this:  the Beauprez/Norton ticket wins in ’06.  Both Ways is a bigger disaster than anyone predicted but in 2010 runs for re-election w/ two (count ’em, two) GOP primary opponents, the Little Fella and Calamity Jane.
The Trailhead Foundation self-destructs over this dilemma….

          2.   You’re correct that ’98, candidates for Lt. Gov. campaigned for the nomination through caucus/assembly or petition route, and were not always accepted and tolerated, let alone recruited and selected, by the top of ticket.
There is no indication that Bill Owens encouraged Rogers to run or otherwised help in his candidacy.
That said, I seem to recall that Jim Congrove, one of the Jeffco right wing fanatics, was Rogers’ primary opponent.
The GOP voters in ’98 essentially had the choice of taking arsenic or blowing their brains out with a gun when it came to nominating a Lt. Gov.

    2. “In order to broaden the opportunities for public service and to guard against excessive concentrations of power, no governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, state treasurer, or attorney general shall serve more than two consecutive terms in such office”

So, BothWaysBob wants to run a ticket of illegality?  It would clearly violate the Colorado Constitution. To think, the Republicans can not even find a viable running mate without breaking the law.

First the complete embarrasment and insult upon our military, now he thinks he can trash the constitution?  How did he get elected to the House of Representatives in the first place.

      1. Desperation on the part of flailing Gubenatorial Candidate Beauprez, causes the campain to be in likely violation of State Constitutional Law.

Do they have so little regard for the rule of law, and so few intellectual and monetary resources, that nobody bothered to check?

    3. I predicted that Both Ways would select Calamity Jane as his running mate a couple of months ago.  She’s right wing enough, adds gender and geographical balance to the ticket, her husband rendered valuable legal services to the Both Ways’ camp in squashing the Little Fella in court, and Jane has on-the-job experience as Lt. Gov.  It actually is a logical choice.

  1. Could we get the Peggy Lamm for Congress banner ad off this site.  We know you guys were for Peggy, but really.  If she paid for the space, why doesn’t she donate it to Ed’s campaign or at least change the banner with her endorsement of Ed?

  2. in reasoned, sane and somewhat progressive politics, as the 2004 elections demonstrated. But the work is far from complete, AND we must become a national voice that assists in leading the nation away from the extreme, violent, lying and hypocritical Republican positions.

There are those of you who will say, ignore Sir Robin…he’s the extreme one….but, please. I have no power. I control no budgets. Wield no veto pen.

I’ll say here tonight, that the foreign policy accepted and endorsed by our Republican controlled Congress will do nothing but cost BILLIONS of your and my money (do the math…it’s a local issue), kill 10’s if not 100’s of thousand of innocent civilians (I’m shocked at how calloused some Americans have become to wasting innocent babies and mothers lives!), negatively impact the economy (the is in denial), and loses us ouor preimienet position in the world as the arbiter of peace and prosperity. We should have more to export than war!

Help turn the tide. Be a compassionate human being and vote accordingly.
