FOX 21’s Alia Wilson reports:
Supporters of embattled Republican Representative Doug Lamborn are coming to his defense, rallying for the congressman outside of his Colorado Springs office Friday afternoon.
Lamborn has apologized to President Barack Obama after using the term “tar baby” in reference to the president on a radio show last month…
Backers of Lamborn say that the comment has overshadowed the positive aspects of the congressman and his career.
Moveon.org and other liberal groups have protested outside Rep. Doug Lamborn’s offices a couple of times in the last few weeks, both related to Lamborn’s unfortunate “tar baby” comments about President Barack Obama, and general demonstrations regarding the recent debt-ceiling controversy. Lamborn hasn’t received the grassroots attention that freshman Reps. Cory Gardner and Scott Tipton have, but it’s apparently been enough for his office to put up a “NO PROTESTING” sign–that’s really what it says–next to the sidewalk (H/T Not My Tribe).
Evidently that does not apply to pro-Lamborn demonstrations.
Bottom line: as odd as a rally in support of the “embattled,” nonetheless ultra-safe Lamborn sounds, we suppose we can understand why his staff “supporters” would want to throw one. But the permission they apparently needed detracts a little from the spontaneity.

or put my balls on my garage workbench and smash them repeatedly with a hammer. Such choices to make.
but you may post pictures of cats pushing watermelons out of a lake anytime. Friggin awesome.
and not the chiropractor’s office?
I bet if you open the door, it’s just an empty warehouse.
You condemn Lamborn for wanting the orderly environment you demand for every abortion clinic in the nation? Private property is just that, hippies.
Just saying.
Did your check from WhoSaidYouSaid not clear until today?
It contains a reference to free speech and the right to petition the government. It goes something like this:
The point is Lamborn shouldn’t have his office there if that is their policy. He pledged to serve the citizenry, not a private company (his voting record to the contrary).
Because the GSA charges too much for rent. (And the space is usually 1930s crap.)
I think the last congressperson/senator to have an office in a federal building here in GJ was Bill Armstrong. It’s been a while.
Ellie might remember different.
Ken Salazar had space in the Federal Building here.
It’s Aspinall’s old office and goes to the senior member of Congress (among the two senators and 3rd District congressman.)
It’s a cool office.
But maybe that’s because I once had an office in Casper in the Old Post Office building.
The windows didn’t work. It was hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The only ventilation was a transom over the office door.
I think Salazar bugged out to the Alpine Bank building, and I seem to recall that money was the reason.
because Udall wanted it. With more seniority in Washington, he could do it.
Now that the building has undergone an entire remodel with green tech everywhere, it’s probably very nice.
You’re saying:
A glory seeking politician who publicly prompts public disharmony is equal to a private medical clinic attempting to serve private medical clients within a shell of medical privacy?
The politicos and idealogues marching into and out of Lamborn’s office are as distraught and frightened out of their wits as women who have been diagnosed by their doctors with certain death if they do not go through the clinic doors?
Those Republicans confidently frequenting Lamborn’s tip jar have tearfully wrestled with their conciences before they drop off another $100 check as have the God fearing women trembling toward their encouners on an operating table?
Lamborn’s office has been bombed, his staff stalked by gun carrying hippies and he’s been marked for murder by a national network of religiously misguided zealots–and the media slept through the whole thing?
Just asking.
Or are you admitting that the entrances to abortion clinics should be respected as private, as you demand for every Repblican political office in the nation?
Sorry, that was the easiest cheap shot I’ve ever taken.

I dub thee, Congressman “Molehill” Lamborn.
How much safer does his seat have to be?
Has the Fox reporter actually been to El Paso County?
Lamborn as “embattled”??? I am seriously wiping tears out of eyes from laughing.
He will be the Colorado Springs Congressman until he dies or until he gets a clue about how the real world works and goes to work as an aide for Perlmutter.
If anything Lamborn is RINO by El Paso County standards – he needs to tighten up and take a real stand for conservative values.
But maybe he is indicative of Congress as a whole. Because he is a classic example of local voters favoring ideology over intelligence.
