Zappatero, why do you hate America?

            1. ….Phoenix, but I actually agree with you.  LHGQ is extremely out of whack!  (excepting your support of the ACLU of course 🙂 ).  You’ll always see me add to the rancor here of course.  But I truly despise the nastiness of the “satanist” and “traitor” comments.  It just the same old crud LHGQ and his cohort foisted upon Jeff Crank with thier “Christian” Coalition hit piece.  Destroy everything except what you want.  It’s selfish and hideously un-Christian.

I apologize to you, PHX, on behalf of pro-life, anti-gay-marriage, pro-school-choice Religious Right folks like myself who believe such statements are disgusting.

PHX….this will probably be the last time.  😉  ….fun while it lasted.

    2. Amazing Zappatero! According to the website, at least 20 republicans are supporting Jay Fawcett! Call off the dogs, sir. At this rate, Jay will have nearly 50 republicans in his pocket by the time the election rolls around, and that means he will only lose by about 50,000 votes.

      Talk about results!

  1. Caskey won’t criticize push-poll on Buescher

    http://www.gjsentine

In the Senile the other day:

“Republican House District 55 candidate Bob Caskey declined to condemn a “draconian” push-poll conducted last week of Mesa County voters asking them if they would re-elect Rep. Bernie Buescher if they knew he allegedly had supported funding sex-change operations for inmates.”

Caskey and Buescher’s comments follow pledges each have made in the past year to run “clean campaigns.”

This idiot Caskey is so dumb…  when trailhead tried to point out how Buescher is raising thousands of dollars for a slush fund called an office account, Caskey was bragging to people that he was not quoted in the article.

Caskey criticized any organization that would make campaign finance stuff an issue.  Caskey said he told the reporter that he himself probably made mistakes on his reports.

Attention 527’s:  This guy is going to make you look dumb.

    1. Oh my, it’s come to this?  They’re re-cycling old attack ads from a Congressional race?  With all the money Snakehead has, you would think they could hire some talented P.R. ppl. to come up with something new and topically relevant to Governor’s race………

      1. Know that I think of it more, I think it really is the same radio ad: same attack (plea bargaining), same male voice, same crap again.  Next, we’ll have Bob talking about the smell of cow dung in a commercial, too.

        Nothing original here.

      2. but let’s bomb the opposition into oblivion (foreign policy) or destroy the opposition (through fear and lies) locally. The Republican party is dead.

  2. is the most delusional, dangerous and expensive government I’ve seen in my life. My life has been long, thank you. When will this country wake up and remove this very dangerous man from his position of leadership? Make November be the month!

Beware of cheating machines! We’re in dangerous times. All intelligent people should be on high alert!

Look at the world, and look at the leadership of the most powerful country in the world….and be afraid. But DON’T let the current leasership manipulate your fear. Do NOT put your faith in this bozo government. Please.

    Fucking travesty.

Where is the heart and brains in this once great country?

    Dangerous times, indeed!

Their only answer is war and armaments. Today, they signed a deal to send more Patriot missiles to Japan. Last week it was RUSH more weapons to Israel (they still lost). It’s the depravity in their reponses that concerns me, as it should all thinking people. There is the capability, let loose by idiots, to return the globe to the 13th century. That’s where Shrub’s brain resides!

    Wake up!

  3. Bush acknowledged this week that he has been discouraged as well. “Frustrated?” he asked. “Sometimes I’m frustrated. Rarely surprised. Sometimes I’m happy. This is — but war is not a time of joy. These aren’t joyous times. These are challenging times and they’re difficult times and they’re straining the psyche of our country.”

Presidential counselor Dan Bartlett said Bush and his advisers still believe progress is being made and the war will be won. “No question about it, the last three months have been much more challenging,” he said. “Are we always going to be pleased with the pace? No. There are days that are frustrating. But is the overall direction going the right way? . . . The answer to that is yes.”

The tone represents a striking change from what critics considered an overly rosy portrayal of Iraq, and the latest stage in a year-long evolution in message.

With sectarian violence flaring into some of the worst bloodshed since the March 2003 invasion, the White House felt the need to connect with the anxiety in the American public. “Most of the people rightly are concerned about the security situation, as is the president,” Bartlett said.

But with crucial midterm elections just 2 1/2 months away, Bush and his team are trying to turn the public debate away from whether the Iraq invasion has worked out to what would happen if U.S. troops were withdrawn, as some Democrats advocate. The necessity of not failing, Bush advisers believe, is now a more compelling argument than the likelihood of success.

Using such terms as “havoc” at Monday’s news conference, Bush made no effort to suggest the situation in Iraq is improving. Instead, he argued: “If you think it’s bad now, imagine what Iraq would look like if the United States leaves before this government can defend itself.”

Christopher F. Gelpi, a Duke University scholar whose research on public opinion in wartime has been influential in the White House, said Bush has little choice.

“He looks foolish and not credible if he says, ‘We’re making progress in Iraq,’ ” Gelpi said. “I think he probably would like to make that argument, but because that’s not credible given the facts on the ground, this is the fallback. . . . If the only thing you can say is ‘Yes, it’s bad, but it could be worse,’ that really is a last-ditch argument.”

    ********************************************
To all  of you who have stuck to this “president” ……I really have little to say that hasn’t already be said.

    1. The Republican press machine is good. All they need do is sound a bit contrite, stick to a few simple messages that somewhat echo the concern many Rs have about Iraq and they’ll be able to hold many of their voters. This is what it takes to get the people who can’t stomach the Ds to go ahead and vote for the Rs (because they weren’t going to vote for the Ds anyway, they were going to stay home). Then, the administration goes about its merry way.

How I wish the Ds could polish their press machine …
