Anybody Else Want to be a Republican U.S. Senate Candidate?

No, seriously, we’re asking in light of this news from Jesse Paul of The Colorado Sun:

What the hell?

Deborah Flora

Deborah Flora is a talk radio host with 710 KNUS in Denver. In terms of name ID among Colorado Republican Senate candidates seeking to eventually lose to incumbent Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet in 2022, Flora probably fits somewhere between Gino Campana and Joe O’Dea (whoever that is).

From what we can tell, Flora is a former actress and Miss Colorado winner, as well as a seasoned veteran of the “aggrieved Republican mom” team.

The only Coloradan who life might be affected by this announcement is fellow right-wing radio host Dan Caplis. We have been under the assumption that Caplis was only pretending (again) to run for U.S. Senate, and this likely cements that status.

On the other hand, maybe it wouldn’t be that weird to have two talk radio host candidates since Caplis is now on KHOW instead of KNUS. That really could have been awkward otherwise.

    1. I accidentally tuned in to 93.7 Freedom Radio one afternoon, and still listen when my stomach is stable and I want to know what the RWNJs are saying.

It was blaring in my car when I took it in for servicing. The tire guy thought I was Hawtt. So, there’s that.

      1. I spent yesterday in a pickup truck with a family unit that’s an XM – Patriot Radio disciple. I sat through almost an entire Mark Levin screed, with several belly laughs and commentary – enough that he finally shut him off. That is some, umm, interesting dialogue. Sustaining that level of anger is a health hazard.

  1. The more, the merrier.

Since petitioning has replaced the 30%-of-the-assembly route in popularity to get onto the ballot, we now have the real possibility of getting more than three candidates on the ballot.

No one has explained to these idiots that if there are four RWNJs on the ballot and one non-Trump, center-right candidate, the non-Trump, center-right candidate could conceivably win the primary.

Think about the Democrats in 1992. They had a three-way primary in which the most conservative of the three (so conservative he later became a Republican) won the primary as the less conservative (Lamm) and the liberal (Heath) split most of the votes.

Michael Bennet is probably safe for re-election regardless of whom the GOP nominates. If they run another RWNJ, Bennet gets the so-called RINO vote. If they (inadvertently) run a RINO, the nut jobs sit out the election.
