“It is the quality of the moment, not the number of days, or events, or of actors, that imports.”

One must really wonder just what the Obama crowd is trying to hid with this late night hijacking of the people’s access to their government?
Where are the screams from the ACLU, the OSW grass tops….?
Is this driven by Solyndra, are there more Solyndra’s?

But I easily recall under Ashcroft (and Alberto) the ‘default’ was to deny every request you can; Obama administration changed that back to how it had always been–‘default’ is disclosure.
I agree this move is troubling, but–unlike you–I can put it in context. The National Security Apparatus has always hated FOIA, whether under a Republican or Democrat.
I, for one, have not been shy about voicing mine re: the current administration.
O administration deserves whatever grief they get over this one.
The Tadpole comes here to stir dissent, as if none of us can recall the past. The choice remains pretty obvious, and stark, in my opinion.
The latest initiative intends to address what has long been recognized as the core problem – underwater loans due to devaluation in home prices. But industry analysts are not optimistic this latest effort will be enough to be of much help.
Some stats on the Las Vegas housing market
Median home price is now 63% below the 2006 peak.
80 % of homeowners in Vegas owe more on their loan than the house is worth.
Default notices increased 190% from July to August.

The banks accept the losses and renegotiate the loan against present value. And the banks aren’t going to do that as long as the Feds let them get away with pretending that the loans are worth their face value.
Or as my wife put it, we’re screwed till ’16 because next year we either have 4 more years of Obama or we have a Republican. Either way, the banks continue to get their way.
GDP Q3 2011: U.S. Economy Grows At Annualized Rate Of 2.5 Percent, Meeting Expectations
2.5 % certainly better than the near flatlined numbers previous two quarters, but we need a 4% plus growth rate to put a significant dent in the unemployment number.

even though I wasn’t having problems on other sites. ColPols especially slow when I click on things like “your comments”. Also, yesterday for a while every time I signed on, as soon as I clicked on anything else, I found myself no longer signed on. Then, a little later, that particular problem disappeared.
the sign in then signed out thing was happening to me for at least 2 weeks and magically repaired itself a few days ago
Good thing as I’m such a genius at fixing stuff on my own!
Anyone else noticing it seems better now?
That explains the frequent double posts. I thought it was just my computer. When I post, it seems to not show I posted, so sometimes I click a second time. I wonder if either Pols or soapblox changed its bandwidth or something recently (not a techie, obviously).
It’s the ad servers that slow things down.

by a lot. I’ve talked to a lot of people in Boulder asking how they’re going to vote. And only 2 are voting for 2B & 2C.
When I ask about 103 it’s about 90% that say they’ll vote yes and the rest have said they’re still undecided. But this is Boulder so I wouldn’t apply those results to the entire state.
Have you returned your ballot yet? Tomorrow is the last day you can put it in the mail and be sure your vote is counted. Mail it out today or tomorrow, and make sure you vote Yes on 103 for Colorado’s kids, schools, and communities. Please pass it on in any/all ways you can. Thanks.
And the 103 vote was a resounding no. Thanks anyway.
Did you just mark it really really really hard when you filled in the arrow? Did you sign and seal it with extreme prejudice?
Enough alerady.
Did this guy also write “hell fucking no” on his ballot, with a little drawing of an angry face?
But finding none, “No” was the best I could do.
Cain: I don’t need to know the foreign-policy details
http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com…
Later reports have Cain highly recommending “Canadian bacon, black olive, and mushroom” as his favorite pizza combination — “I know what I know.”
not to win the nomination mind you, but to demonstrate how little you care about how little you know.

that whatever it is he’s been doing in the debates thus far constitutes “participating”?
Perry may not take part in all Republican debates
http://www.reuters.com/article…
I said it yesterday, but it seems to bear repeating, Rick Perry has got to be getting campaign advice from Sarah Palin . . . “just quit Ricky, it’s so mavericky — let Herb Cain take the heat for a while.”
