The fact that everyone’s asking if it’s Newt Gingrich’s moment could lower ratings.

I expect Ron Paul to be the sane candidate on the stage. Huntsman may or may not also display sanity, but no-one will pay him any attention.
Paul advocated against being too aggressive overseas, against the PATRIOT Act, and for ending the drug war as being unproductive.
Huntsman countered with what little time he was offered by saying our biggest problem is joblessness.
Everyone else? Loopy.
Romney managed two major gaffes which don’t seem to have gotten much attention – flip-flopping on illegal immigration enforcement within a 5 minute span, and calling out Hezbollah activity in Latin America as a major threat.
I believe Mitt Romney just referred to Pakistan as the 6th largest nation in the world.
If he meant according to population, that’s correct, but he should have worded it differently.
Why do we have discredited right-wing fools asking questions at this debate?
Gingrich claimed we could replace all of Iran’s oil exports to Europe with our own, if we only used the power of making shit up.
Perry claimed that half a trillion dollars is $500 million dollars.
Herman Cain thinks we need to look at the facts, decide what’s best, and then do it. He will let you know how that ends up after you elect him.
9,688,000 Barrels – US daily production
4,252,000 Barrels – Iran Daily Production
So we would have to increase our production by 50%, which, even if possible, is not feasible, at least not with any speed. It would take time to build wells and infrastructure necessary to do so.
CNN Verdict: Not a Lie, but certainly Misleading
He’s actually making some sense on immigration. “If they’ve been here for twenty years, they’ve obeyed the laws, and they pay taxes, we should let them stay.” (paraphrased)
“For saying that we need to be humane in our enforcement of immigration policy.”
Good point.
Let’s assume Republicans are the nicest, kindest, smartest people around, and that they just look, sound, and act like complete assholes because we’re wearing the wrong color sunglasses.
Probably the more accurate way to look at it is that Gingrich is bored with the campaign and doesn’t know what to do with his lead in the polls, and as always can’t just exit gracefully. I think this is his flounce: “Look I’ve changed every one of sixteen deeply-held beliefs to win this primary, but I’m tired of trying to remember which side I’m supposed to be on, so take this primary and shove it! Oh and buy my book, that’s why I really ran after all, I need some new jewelry and a Greek vacation.”
I can’t imagine a woman anywhere voting for Gingrich. He seems condescending and arrogant, and his policies are archaic. I think focus groups would bear that out. Gingrich has no there, there, for women voters.
I didn’t know that about him. But he won’t be elected.
What I find interesting is his stand on immigration mirrors that of the catholic church.
Are we going to have a “religious test” for residency??
