Romney Seems To Be Pummeling Newt Gingrich

UPDATE: Newt Gingrich’s giant pulsating brain returns fire.

—–

CNN live from tonight’s debate:

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich sparred Thursday with Mitt Romney over immigration policies race as tempers flared in the opening minutes of the CNN/Republican Party of Florida debate in Jacksonville…

“I’m not going to go find grandmothers and take them out of them homes and deport them,” Romney said, accusing Gingrich of using “highly-charged epithets” irresponsibly. “Our problem is not 11 million grandmothers.”

  1. Fannie and Freddie thing, though Newt definitely comes off the worst because Romney was able to point out that Newt’s in exactly the same boat as the one he wants to put Romney in since they both have mutual funds that include these investments. Besides Newt’s getting paid to, ahem, not be a lobbyist. Awkward moment for Newt.

Bottom line: The great TP revolution against the establishment is fizzling fast.  The establishment has gathered its forces to crush Newt and it’s going to be the same old story.  If the TP diehards really want a candidate to call their own, they’ll have to go 3rd party. Or shut up and fall in line like good little Republican troops taking their orders.

On the plus side for Dems, Newt has plenty of money to keep on bloodying Romney and providing fodder for general election Dem ads for quite some time.  And he’s nasty and unstable enough to do lots more damage before he goes down for the count.  I’m not sure it’s really going to matter all that much which one is the “winner” anymore.

    1. I managed to listen to NPRs’ excerpts this AM. Romney got a new debate coach…

Dole? ..who will the big Bushco, Inc. guns call out next? Hypocritical bullshit ego-driven megalomania just doesn’t fare well under the antiseptic glare of Kleigs…or whatever they are using today.

      See..Terrell Owens.

Not a good night for Newt. A very good fundraising effort by Mittens.. Early voting may dampen Newts’ SC bounce…

      Hmmm….
