It’s a busy week from Denver to D.C. fighting for our shared progressive values, so let’s get right to it:
Action item #1 this week: tell Senate Democrats you’ve got their back as they fight for the speedy confirmation of D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the U.S. Supreme Court. Despite Judge Jackson’s impeccable legal credentials and distinguished career stretching back to her days as a public defender, Republicans are already plotting to stall her nomination any way they can.
America can’t be held hostage by the far right any longer on Supreme Court picks. Our friends at UltraViolet are mobilizing voters across the nation to urge the Senate to confirm Judge Jackson without delay. Click here to stand with them.
Looking to help with humanitarian relief efforts in Eastern Europe? United Help Ukraine is a 501(c)(3) registered charity dedicated to providing support to the families of killed and wounded in the Russian invasion of Ukraine as well as housing assistance for refugees fleeing the violence. Click here to learn more about their work.
Thanks to everyone who signed up last week to help pass the Reproductive Health Equity Act (RHEA)! Last week, legislation to criminalize abortion in Colorado was killed in a legislative committee, a reminder of the threat rights we once took for granted are under today. The next steps in this important fight are coming up, so watch this space for updates.
