Republican gets his dog to vote for him.
http://blogs.denverpost.com/th…
“I think my dog did vote for me,” Liston [said].
Second, this “Fast and Furious” issue that has caused so much stink this week, which I believe is solely politically motivated, raises so many interesting issues, not the least of which is why the Republicans are so intent on finding out where these Mexican drug cartels got these guns from. I can only hope that when some American terrorist opens fire on some innocent on a college campus, or anywhere for that matter, they are just as intent on finding the source of that gun, and doing something about it.
but if I were in a position to, I’d be asking some hard questions, too. Probably laced with sarcasm and profanity.
When people shot people on my campus the search for the origin of the gun was nearly universal. It really wasn’t until years later people like to pretend it didn’t happen for the almighty dollar, or to score some asstacular point. Not that that’s happening here. At. all. Happy fucking Saturday to you, too.
It’s super nice to have a jackwipe hanging around to use violent rhetoric on the weekends. God knows I don’t suffer enough.
Meanwhile, Mr. Pacifist, please explain why you think basically giving guns to known violent criminals is okey dokey. I understand why the politics of it all is just plain old obnoxious, but I’m still disgusted enough to not really care who’s asking the questions. They should be answered. Or maybe I’ve misunderstood your original comment. You don’t care, or are just making a blanket generalization that is easily proven to be false in order to score your own random political points.
I’m just bothered by this enough to demand a coherent answer, or an apology. Either had better be good. Your turn.
It’s too easy to talk past one another on blogs. Let’s see where we differ. I need to ask for a clarification first. By, “using violent rhetoric on weekends”, whom are you referring to?
I kinda like the moniker, Mr. Pacifist. I wear that rather proudly. Warmonger? As an aternative, I’ll pass.
As a pacifist, I reject your presumtion that I think giving guns to known criminals is okey dokey. Where did I imply that?
I care who’s asking the questions too…..we agree here. That gets to the point of my post. This high profile, politically motivated issue is way off mark and mishandled by the Inquisitors.
What point are you tryig to make? Do you think the Obama adminsitration has something illegal or nefarious to hide? What?
My point goes to the issue of guns and hypocrisy.
I overheard some folks talking at the park this morning, complaining about how liberals from Oregon and Washington had invaded Colorado and turnd it liberal. They were saying the socialist entitlement state had changed peole to a “me” mentality, and generous public services were like heroin. I’ve also heard this heroin comparison made on the internet and the radio.
The DNC should immediately address this “entitlments are like heroin” idea right away. Maybe Meth, which is a harsher buzz, or Ripple, which has a nasty hangover. They must address their efforts to making being poor suck worse so that people whose money is being redistributed to let the poor live lives of addicted entitledness feel less taken advantage of.
invaded from the north–South Dakota
Now you’ve overplayed it. You were much more amusing when you kept it subtle enough to actually fool some of us some of the time or at least for a few beats. No need now for drastic measures suggested by some such as deleting you. No one will mistake posts like this for dwyer’s even if they’re dyslexic.
I enjoyed your first set of posts, though. They were really clever.
Dwyer, before I get all pissed off, I do want to make sure I’m not misunderstanding you. Your actual view is that:
(1) the DNC is “making being poor suck worse”?
(2) people paying more in taxes “people whose money is being redistributed to let the poor live lives of addicted entitledness”?
it isn’t DWyer, it DYwer. It’s a troll just trying to piss you off… ignore it and maybe it will go away
Libertad 2.0 is ok because it’s a clear spoof. But this is trying to fly under the radar.
Damn Democrats and their propensity to over-regulate everything! (I am kidding, but I don’t see a need).
a poster named “Club Titty”… 🙂
I think people noticed it quickly. Pols can’t police everything. Self-regulation. Its the way of the future. Free market anarchy.
But its really not that important to me. And, especially if you have not yet voted for FPE then I am willing to abandon my position and embrace a new one.
Just shake me around again and I become a blank screen ready to become an advocate for your position. I just really need your votes. Thank you.
(I am Club Twitty, and I approved this message)
I think they had this case before where the spelling difference was so slight that people generally didn’t catch it. And I think they did delete the fake account.
well, it’s probably deserved.
FTR, people often confuse Libertad with 2.0. I’m unclear on the difference.
from my perspective, is that I never insult the 2.0 version, while insulting the real and true Tadpole is a fairly regular chore.
His/her (2.0) parody of the the original isn’t quite Steven Colbert, but it’s pretty good.
Didn’t you notice my comment, the third time I’ve pointed out that dYwer isn’t dwYer, and that’s just three comments among the many on this subject for days? And how could you possibly mistake this one, not even accurate parody, for the real Dwyer. So I guess I was wrong about that part.
But I must apologize. Not everyone has been here long enough or frequently enough to be familiar with the usual suspects. I guess it’s natural that some will continue to be confused. Sorry and no, that’s not dwyer.
i have only two words in my defense:
1) I’m
2) stoopid
I was too snippy. The way people perceive the printed word varies so much. For some reason, for me the difference jumped right out the first time I saw it. It changed the shape of the word in a very noticeable way for me. But I know that many others missed it entirely, especially the first few times when the parody was really right on the money. I probably could miss something in another switcheroo that would be obvious to someone else. For instance, I might forget that you have a 1 in your name and mistake a plain “raymond” for you.
I guess if we see something that doesn’t quite fit what we expect from someone, check the tag closely.
It took me awhile…and I used to be a paid proofreader.
Republicans think the “entitlement mentality” has reduced the populace (at least the half that doesn’t pay taxes) to zombies addicted to government handouts. Democrats want to increase the level of government to better control their zombie army.
How do democrats fight this?
p.s. If I knew the difference was going to be to subtle for you people, I’d have made it more obvious for you.
if you take a word and switch two letters but keep the first and last the same, it’s very easy to read it correctly and not even notice. Your fake name seems to suffer from that.
Plus your parody is a bit on the subtle side (here I disagree with BlueCat). If I were one to do joke accounts (and I’m not), I would go way off the deep end with it.
You didn’t ask for a critique, but I’m bitter at my election loss so I’ll give you one anyway. This stuff about “zombie entitlement army” is basically standard Republican claptrap, if you listen closely enough and don’t filter. The first step is you have to actually parody Republican talking points (which is hard!), then repeat them uncritically through your dywer character, then propose some ridiculous overcompensation that Democrats absolutely must do if they want to keep Dan Maes from winning the governorship in 2010. GO!
but I also don’t think dywer, should be banned. I think dywer’s been a lot of fun. In any case I guess we’re all on notice to be alert.
Per anonymous sources.
Romney sure busted some of that Obama red tape up in Craig !
which is another way of saying that it’s impossible for states to do that. Which proves that Obama’s policies (which have us in an undeniable turnaround) aren’t “stifling” anything.
Thanks for playing.

Please evacuate if you are in the fire area. It looks very bad and my thoughts are with you all. Please leave if you are told to and stay safe.
Headed ENE
IWhat if I don’t trust the fire dept to save my place or at least prioritize it adequately?
What if I’ve lived through a hundred so called catastrophes or evac orders?
I’ll evacuate my home when they carry me out feet first, gun in one hand, flag in the other, just like the founders intended.
No, not that one, this one…
Damn skippy.
Here in hurricane country, the last words heard from many dead people were, “I’ll just ride it out.”
Evacuate. It’s not like you can do something that the officials can’t.
I think this one was a joke.
Sounds like El Paso county to me.
BTW – I looed up ninjas on thesaurus.com and it said ninjas cannot be found
Well played ninjas. Well played.
they don’t even have a synonym…wow.
Glad to know that in this case!
….is it time to start posting references to Sarajevo and an assassination of a particular Archduke?
http://www.cnn.com/2012/06/24/…
Turkey invokes NATO treaty, NATO has legitimate reasons to jointly attack a member, Russia and China get pissed, and we’re in a BAD BAD situation….
Seriously, I think Russia and China would as soon abandon the Middle East at this point rather than prop up Syria in the face of obvious aggression. If it becomes that serious, NATO could probably make some conciliatory moves to offset Russia’s loss of a port.
During the lead into WWI a lot of the people in charge then didn’t think it would keep escalating.
Here’s hoping that there is very active communication between the US and Russia and they work out beforehand what each will do.
The assassination of the Archduke was just the last in a series of crises that had been happening for a decade. It was actually of lesser importance than many of the ones which preceded it, but the powers had had enough. Remember, few people were old enough to even remember the last time Europe had engaged in a general war (which was the Crimean War, and which was small time compared to the Napoleonic wars 100 years earlier).
This is serious, and should not be downplayed. But it shouldn’t be compared to other incidents if the situations aren’t truly parallel.
Turkey has been aggressively expanding both it’s soft and hard power on a number of fronts. They have a modern military (as compared to Syria) and an aggressive foreign policy that is moving into both Africa and pressing for EU membership and more trade with Europe.
Syria can use a foreign invasion as a justification to let slip their military on both a “Crusader-backed invader” as well as those pesky pro-democracy invaders. Iran sides with Syria. Israel uses all of it as the final excuse to bomb Iran, and we’re off to $300/barrel oil and a Middle East conflict that will lead to a few nukes being dropped.
NATO won’t be able to do jack shit – they couldn’t keep Greece and Turkey apart when they had more forces in the region and a clear legal justification. Again, if anything, they might be sucked into this because it’s pretty clear Syria shot down their plane without any justification.
This is bad….
