        1. Last weekend Pfruit and Negev passionately made a case that Paul Pelosi was attacked by a scorned, leftist lover.  We’ve seen the verdict in that case (although I’m confident our trolls have engaged a Trump University lawyer to appeal it to the highest court in the land)

          1. Yes, or perhaps just manure spreading by PP and NG. I'm not sure the goal was to make a case. Rather they were engaged in a Steve Bannon – Fox News – Republican disinformation campaign.

"Spew shit into the zone" to confuse and distract. It is an agit-prop strategy, not an actual effort to build a case.

The Cynic KNOWS what he says is a lie, but says it anyway. Viz. Henry Kissinger.

            1. To the same point:

It is a lie to say that half the Republicans running for federal or state wide office believe the presidency was stolen from Donald Trump. Half the Republicans running for federal or state wide office knowingly falsely claim the presidency was stolen from Donald Trump. The difference between “believe” and “knowingly falsely claim” is not significant—in fact, it is very important.

          2. Last weekend you made the case the green party hemp nudist that lived in a Berkley commune and supported BLM was MAGA. We've seen the verdict on that case too.

            1. Let me introduce you to some legitimate journalism? From this morning’s Bulwark

              The Anti-Anti-DePape Right

And even if DePape did it, the key thing is to avoid conceding he was motivated by shared resentments shared by their party. “The left’s insistence that every conservative personally ‘condemn’ the actions of the mentally ill man who attacked Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul has nothing to do with lowering the rhetorical temperature or averting violence, and everything to do with trying to compel Republicans to take responsibility for the incident,” argues David Harsanyi, in a column that does not pause to condemn the attack or acknowledge that many Republicans are joking about the incident or denying it occurred. The attack on Pelosi, like the January 6 invasion, becomes fundamentally another episode of conservatives suffering persecution.

The remorseless pattern of the Trump era is that every right-wing impulse that begins as resentment of the critics of some element of their movement ultimately evolves into direct support. The anti-anti-DePape right is clearing the way for something even more sinister.

DePape is a Canadian living here illegally since 2008 so I assume he doesn’t vote, Red, Green or otherwise. Hemp was legalized in Canada 11 years before he arrived in the US (1997). Are you aware there are conservative nudists, too?

                1. When you shit on the plate at a  church picnic, you don't have the right to share in the good food. (Well unless you are at a Unitarian picnic; then all bets are off.)

The only rational response is to shut down the trolls at  first  Bullshit.

                2. the whole discussion about the MAGA crazies driving this guy gets lost.

Ah, the underlying unspoken. Here I was thinking it was about condemning violence…

….the police recording said Mr Pelosi knew the guy…

                1. That's rich, Negev.  I posted the breaking story, asking for prayers for the family.  You ran down the Defiant America rabbit holes, I responded with counter-arguments.  At some point I suggested my preference was to make judgement when the dust settled and not (like you) armchair quarterback an ongoing investigation.

I never once gave an overtone to violence.  You're ranting at a near-pacifist that has never owned a gun. One who believes real fire power comes from a voting booth.

                  1. Simmer down cheech I never suggested you gave an overtone of violence…actually the first post I got in on was you saying:

MAGA’s spewing a righting conspiracy/victim-blaming narrative today in which there’s a pelosi-lead regime hitting itself in the head with hammers. Even though it sounds like they got the idea of hitting oneself in the head with a hammer by doing it to themselves that’s their spin

I know my first post of Pelosi’s daughter saying Rand Paul’s neighbor was right got your gears turning, but I started this questioning the initial reporting, and have merely responded to you ever since….if your preference was to make judgements when the dust settled, quit bringing it up, every day, in the open thread. I too am a near pacifist and I am sure you and I agree on more than we disagree on, and the banter keeps me sharp. I appreciate your dialogue and am sure we will have it again. Sorry I bogarted your doob.

                    1. No need to simmer down on my end, Negev. You’re my entertainment at the moment.

Those words you say “I said” isn’t something I said: it was a quote copied from the comment thread in the Rand tweet. Try harder 🙂 (the quote I shared turned out to be spot on)

                    2. Ok good, I thought I hurt your feewings for a second…. carry on…but look at the time stamp the Rand quote came after your quote….

                    3. That tweet was widely disseminated across social media that day (it’s almost like it was coordinated) Your posting wasn’t the first time I saw it

    1. Nate has been trying to re-establish his relevance since his 2016 faux pas. He may be right, although he’s making the case. The jury is deliberating. What I can predict is there will be a verdict issued next Tuesday confirming Michael Bennet as Pfruit’s Senator and someone is going to have to teach him to spell R-E-C-A-L-L Blue State.

    1. Why Dr. Oz Fears John Fetterman

Throughout his campaign, Oz has sought to turn John Fetterman’s stroke into a political millstone. That’s because he does not want you to know what he knows: John Fetterman’s ability to recover from a stroke while running a top-notch campaign—all with happy-warrior aplomb—is nothing short of incredible. Oz’s criticisms of Fetterman speak of a fear of Fetterman’s drive. Oz sees that drive and it has Oz spooked.

Traumatic brain injury is no joke. Aside from those who have suffered a brain injury, only medical professionals understand what recovery entails. Only this small subset of the population (which includes Oz) understands the hell of temporarily living inside a mind that refuses to obey you. Oz may be a quack, but he’s still a doctor. He knows what this stroke has told people about Fetterman’s character. And it scares him.

  1. HD-15 sure knows how to pick ’em…(I think we’ve found a new homeland for Pfruit)

Republican candidate for Colorado House falsely claims Planned Parenthood sells body parts, FBI instigated U.S. Capitol riot

If Bottoms wins, he’ll follow a line of controversial predecessors into the House District 15 seat, including former Rep. Gordon Klingenschmitt, a Republican who said homosexuality is a sin and compared President Barack Obama to a demon. The office is now held by Rep. Dave Williams, who has cast doubt on the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election and mounted an unsuccessful GOP primary challenge this year to U.S. House Rep. Doug Lamborn.

Before Klingenschmitt, the district was represented by Douglas Bruce, a Republican as famous for his authorship of Colorado’s Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights, which limits government growth and requires voter approval for all tax increases, as for his bombast in office. In 2008, Bruce was censured by the Colorado legislature after he kicked a photographer for the now-defunct Rocky Mountain News during the legislature’s morning prayer.

    1. Scott Bottoms, Dave Williams, Gordon Klingenschmidt, Dougie Bruce….. Never saw a "finer bunch" of CINOs before.

CINO = Conservative In Name Only.

    1. This is the truth about originalism–it is judges playing bad amateur historians, cherry-picking history to achieve what they divine to be the "original meaning" behind constitutional provisions.  DC v. Heller was wrong on the history.  Read Justice Stevens' dissent.  The absurdity of originalism in practice reared its head during the affirmative action cases, where the so-called originalists appear hell-bent to ignore the history behind the passage of the 14th amendment.  Someday, I hope, originalism will be tossed into the dustbin of history, but I'm not optimistic.

  2. Question – how many convistions were there for voter fraud in 2020? The largest number I could find was 17 – Heritage.org who I figure are doing everything they can to over claim.

As a counterpoint to 2,000 Mules someone should create a well produced film, looking like a Law & Order type story, where it starts off saying it will provide proof of voter fraud providing details on every conviction. Make the build up a MAGA wet dream.

And then end it with, yes, there were 17 cases across the entire country. That's it.

        1. I like the idea, DT, but given my personal experience with the MAGA world, facts simply don’t matter.  They are impervious.

I believe you’re right about the demographics of voter fraud – I remember there were one of two of those convicted that were Democrats.  The problem (if you can call it that) is overwhelmingly Republican voters.

  3. Things you don't know until you get a fear-flyer in the mail:

Joe Biden and Left-wing officials are engaged in widespread racial discrimination against WHITE and ASIAN Americance… One of Biden's first executive orders was to mandate racial "equity" as a central policy of the US Government. ("Equitye" is a code word for excluding people from jobs, college admissions and financial benefits based solely on the color of their skin.

This was not a flyer in favor of any candidate. There was no appeal to policy or action. It was a standard, "demonize" and attack the brand of the Democrats.

  4. We just finished our weekly White House Rural Partners call, getting updates on the plethora of programs now available to rural America.  In my adult lifetime I've never seen this level of financial commitment to our communities: a holistic approach to how we can be better equipped for a 21st century global economy.  The programs address our broken food supply chain, a failure of our 40+ years of "cheap food policy".  Historic health care enrollments, world-class internet connectivity to the most remote areas of our country.  New programs for rural electrics to lead in the transition to a clean energy economy.  Massive investments in soil health and conservation.

We have both the Biden Administration and Michael Bennet, as a senior member of the Senate Ag Committee, to thank for this Herculean effort to right a ship that has run ashore.

We are literally drowning in opportunity in rural America. Can we capitalize, or will we continue to be the old man shaking his fist at the clouds in the blue sky?

    1. One place I’d like to see Colorado take advantage of this – Creating a Technology & Innovation Hub in Grand Junction

That’s 500 million to create a regional center. That’s enough money to get something up and running in Grand Junction. Especially if the State and City kick in what they can including free land, etc.

And the pay-off? A lot of very well paying high tech jobs. Colorado Mesa University will improve and become a center for research and education in the specialties of the center. There will be spin-off start-ups. And all that brings in a lot of supportive jobs, everything from more home sales to additional coffee shops.

      1. Even though our drunken pear somehow managed to copy and paste a TikTok link today, I’m purdy shure summa’s gunna hafta splain that acronym to Pfruit. He ain’t that hip.

    1. Leading up to the 2020 presidential election, Cahaly (founder of Trafalga) garnered substantial media attention for his assertions that Trump would prevail over Joe Biden in the 2020 election, a claim that contradicted the polling consensus. Cahaly’s prediction of a Trump victory proved to be wrong, with Trafalgar incorrectly predicting Trump victories in five battleground states won by Biden.
