Tisha Casida Officially Makes CD-3 Ballot

  • by: Colorado Pols

More CD-3 news, reports the Alamosa Valley Courier:

Tisha Casida, independent candidate for U.S. House, Colorado District 3, has officially qualified to be on the ballot for the general election on November 6…

Casida is an advocate of pushing many functions of the federal government down to the state and local level, where there is “more transparency and accountability” with the representatives.

Casida was recently included as a candidate in the Club 20 Debate hosted at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction – where she will be talking about issues affecting voters – along with Representative Scott Tipton (R) and Representative Sal Pace (D).  This debate will take place on September 8.

Adds the Durango Herald’s Joe Hanel:

Casida, a Ron Paul ally, has cultivated support among some Republicans in the district.

“My candidacy is about representing the voice of many people who are either not affiliated with a political party or who are frustrated with their political party,” Casida said in a news release.

Though a native of Vineland near Pueblo, Tisha Casida has cultivated arguably her strongest base of support in the “Tea Party” bastion of northwest Colorado–assisted in her organizing efforts there by former CD-3 Republican candidate Bob McConnell, whose supporters have no love lost for Rep. Scott Tipton after McConnell’s upstart but losing challenge in 2010.

If that’s the segment of the electorate Casida pulls from, she’s more bad news for Tipton.

  1. Is not the only 3rd party candidate, but she’s the only one liberals want to talk about. Will Colorado Pols promote third party candidates who you don’t think will hurt Republicans?

    1. a fewer more unbuttoned buttons?  Wait a minute. Is this you admitting this hurts your guy more? Aren’t you supposed to be telling us “nothing to see here”?

    2. …it merely requires you to post something facty, and then respond to people’s questions and challenges.

For example, I’m still waiting for you to answer my questions about the RomneyBot’s one-page position on veteran’s issues.

      1. He’s talking about Kathy Polhemus, who stands to take votes from Miklosi the same way Casida might take votes from Tipton. She doesn’t appear to be making much news lately, though, and it’s not because Colorado Pols isn’t “promoting” her.

          1. You’re talking about something that happened after I posted that, so you can unclutch your fucking pearls. I’m agreeing with you, Polhemus is as much a part of this election as Casida is, and this blog should pay some attention to her when she does something. Of course, you’re welcome to write a diary about it.

            1. if someone writes it for him and pays him to post it . . .

You’re free to have an opinion RG, but ArapaGOP doesn’t have opinions . . . and whatever it is he does have certainly isn’t free.

    3. Tisha’s got all things that an old coot loves, which is 3/4 of the C20 demographic.

It gets lonely in Maybell. And cold. Tipton hasn’t visited enough.  He never calls anymore.

  2. golly, if this warrants CoPols posting this to the front page, she must be a contender.

I suggest starting her at 1-5.

    or 5-1.

I can never remember which is which.

    1. I’m not at all clear on the computations for the lines, but if I wonder what they mean, I just look at DeGette and say, with her “ratio” as a guide, Ah, yes, so and so must be favored, and such and such must be screwed. It will ever be  thus.

    2. She is definitely a spoiler in CD 3 and capable of attracting Tea Party votes?  Tipton is too far over the edge to now try and woo moderate voters.  He sleeps in the bed he made with Tea Party extremists even if he has to share it with Tisha.

Could this be the year the Tea Party destroys Republican control?

      Can you say Speaker Pelosi?

      What’s a rout sound like?
