I just love this piece of Joe’s lit. Where clearly he’s hiding in your coffee, ready to leap out and startle the bejesus out of some voter’s otherwise serene morning.
In a tribute to that, was thinking of some other places Joe might turn up suddenly to win votes.
Where will Joe turn up next?!?
Perhaps in a bag of chips
While you’re wandering through a swamp
Or even on a cool, fall evening before the election as you watch the flames in your fireplace
Where will Joe turn up to scare the bejesus out of voters next?

I have to be honest here. Joe will make an amazing Congressman because he is a good, decent, honest, thoughtful human being. I’ve never been a fan of the “not your average Joe” stuff though. It worked for him when he was elected State Rep, so he likes it. Personally, I think what Congress needs is an “average Joe” — not corporate suck-up thieves who would sell their mother for a buck.
At least the literature is not a blatant lie like the one that Mike Coffman mailed to my house (and tens of thousands of other homes in a bulk mail-drop) saying he “stopped by” and “tried to call me” (even less believable than the mail I used to get from Publisher’s Clearinghouse saying I’d already won 100 million dollars). It made me want to throw up in my Shredded Wheat. The day Mike Coffman returns my calls — or anyone else’s — will be the day he starts selling Real Estate or some other job, after he leaves Congress. We can only hope.
