On Wednesday, several “99% voters” – low-wage workers, seniors, community activists, and students – once again tried to get Mike Coffman to answer questions about why he won’t support them. They called his campaign office as he suggested in a Denver Post article, but still got no answers.
Aurora voters have repeatedly asked Coffman to stop outsourcing jobs, stop tax breaks for the rich coupled with tax hikes for the middle class, stop cuts to education and healthcare funding and stop refusing to raise the minimum wage.
According to Pam Hesser, “Enough is enough. He makes time for the big donors, but can’t find the time to answer questions from his constituents in Aurora. We have reached out to Mike Coffman repeatedly over the last six months to ask him to stand with the 99% voters who represent the middle class in his district. Since he won’t listen to us or represent us, we’re going with the candidate who will – Joe Miklosi.”
After calling Coffman, the activists went to candidate Joe Miklosi’s office to rally for the 99%. They held information cards about the candidates’ records on supporting the middle class and pledged to take these cards to doors in CO-6 and let the people know Miklosi stands with them – Aurora seniors, students, and working families.
Since Coffman won’t support an economy that works for the 99%, the middle class, Aurora voters are going with candidate who does – Joe Miklosi. The Aurora Sentinel got it right.
