Approps of nothing, this turned up in the online edition of the New York Times this morning. I got a good laugh out of it: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/04/29/business/media/denver-airport.html
The story seems pretty outdated.
There was a thread yesterday on Yahoo News about the blue demonic horse at DIA. You can probably imagine some of the comments from the conspiracy theorists.
That may be what sparked the NYT story. A lot of the "theories" were mentioned in the story.
Colorado Sun has a no-details article on PERA. Trying to imagine what went on, since there hasn't been much in the way of an explanation:
Since that's my money we're talking about, I did a little digging. PERA has some mixed reviews as a workplace environment on Glassdoor.
It looks as though Ron Baker was not on board with aligning PERA's investment with Colorado's climate policies. PERA has been heavily invested in oil and gas until relatively recently.
If that's the reason PERA and Baker are parting ways, I say, "Don't let the door hit ya on the way out, Ron."
Varying alignments on investment policies and figuring out if the Exec Director is following Board instructions doesn't strike me as a justification for a 2 month disappearance and a 6 hour Executive Session.
Your mileage may differ.
