    1. Yep. The whataboutisms will be thick today.

Comparing Hunter Biden's federal crimes to Donald Trump's federal crimes is a ridiculous comparison. BUT if MAGA folk want to compare apples to apples (they never do, btw) then I just want to point out that Hunter Biden pled guilty to his crimes. For the whataboutims to be less stupid (they never care about this either) then it would work best if Trump pled guilty to his crimes too.

      1. For a more precise comparison, I'm wondering when there will be an equivalent investigation of one of Trump's sons — curious whether there may be a "weapons bought by drug user" paperwork violation in Don Jr.'s future.

    2. Who's going to tell GED Barbie?

Trump rejected lawyers’ efforts to avoid classified documents indictment

But Trump was not interested after listening to other lawyers who urged a more pugilistic approach, so Kise never approached prosecutors, three people briefed on the matter said. A special counsel was appointed months later.

Kise, a former solicitor general of Florida who was paid $3 million upfront to join Trump’s team last year, declined to comment.

      1. I thought I was unable to be surprised by Trump, but here I am surprised by his stupidity again. From the same article…

Trump time and again rejected the advice from lawyers and advisers who urged him to cooperate and instead took the advice of Tom Fitton, the head of the conservative group Judicial Watch…

I honestly don't know how Trump can even afford pants. He must have epic grifting skills. Imagine paying at least one lawyer $3 million upfront for advice to ignore that advice and listen to Tom fucking Fitton instead!!

Hell, I'll give Trump a deal. I'll only charge $1 million (one-third of Kise's rate! Think of the savings!!) to give him good advice and have him ignore it. I mean, I'm not even a lawyer but neither is Tom fucking Fitton!

        1. He only hires the BEST people!!!

            1. Just wondering if it’s possible to be any more on the “verge”?  That’s gotta’ be a mighty fine line, and Ttump’s already hanging his chubby ten . . .

(. . . “toes” that would have to be. Clearly.)

It might be significantly more newsworthy on that day that Ttump ever manages to finally belch out any statements that verge on coherent?

    3. Biden Crime Family! Lock Them All Up! YADDA YADDA YADDA

Box Hoax! Witch Hunt! YADDA YADDA YADDA

But Her Emails! Lock Her Up! YADDA YADDA YADDA

  1. Appears that Fox News has really gotten "religion," in regard to Trump, after their $787 million settlement with Dominion. And the SmartMatic lawsuit is still pending.

  2. Colorado Newsline yesterday informed me Abortion-ban initiative proposed for Colorado ballot

An anti-abortion group in Colorado aims to criminalize abortion through a ballot initiative that would define a “living child” as “any living human being during any developmental stage” and protect them from “abuse, harm, and intentional death, without discrimination” in Colorado statute.

There have been a series of defeats on citizen-proposed amendments on the topics surrounding abortion (date: % of losing vote)

    •    Colorado Amendment 11, Prohibition on Partial-Birth Abortions Initiative (1998 — 48.52%)
    •    Colorado Amendment 25, Informed Consent for Abortion Initiative (2000 — 39.44%)
    •    Colorado Amendment 48, Definition of “Person” Initiative (2008 — 26.79%)
    •    Colorado Amendment 62, Definition of Person Amendment (2010 — 29.47%)
    •    Colorado Amendment 67, Definition of Person Initiative (2014 — 35.13%)

Other proposals have not even qualified for the ballot (most recently in 2022).

Apparently, they are gearing up for a 2024 vote on an initiative.

    1. Your linked article also mentions the failed anti-abortion initiative in 2020.

Over the past 25 years, Colorado voters have made their views known on this issue. 48, 62, 67 were not just landslide losses for the "pro-life" movement; those were brutal beat-downs.

These hard core religious zealots don't want to respect the wishes of Colorado voters.

      1. It's magical thinking CHB. They know they are the majority.  Wouldn't it be fun to have another ballot issue codifying reproductive rights in the state Constitution. That would bring people to the voting booth but not the way the Evangelical Confederates would want.

        1. Let ’em spend their money banging their heads against the same ol’ tree. It’s money they won’t have to make other mischief.

  3. (and a boon for rural America if the rural electrics get on board)

Switching The World To Renewable Energy Will Cost $62 Trillion, But The Payback Would Take Just 6 Years

“We do not need miracle technologies to solve these problems. By electrifying all energy sectors; producing electricity from clean, renewable sources; creating heat, cold, and hydrogen from such electricity; storing electricity, heat, cold and the hydrogen; expanding transmission; and shifting the time of some electricity use, we can create safe, cheap, and reliable energy everywhere,” Jacobson says. He is a staunch supporter of the Green New Deal.

The researchers say switching to renewable energy would avoid utility grid blackouts and save consumers trillions of dollars. One of the main reasons for that finding is that the combustion-based energy systems most countries rely require a lot of energy just to function. In switching to a clean, renewable energy system, Jacobson states that worldwide energy usage would go down by 56% immediately.

        1. That was the same article I read where I asked myself how many lines will I read before it mentions it was a republican candidate.

  4. Well hush my mouth, Republicans in trouble for election shenanigans! Per Kyle Clark on Twitter, so it's probably fake news or communist propaganda:

NEW: Six GOP petition circulators have been charged with a felony for forging signatures of dead voters and non-residents, per Colorado AG (Phil Weiser) (D). The petitions were for US House candidate Carl Andersen in CO-7. Andersen is not charged.

    1. The decision was unanimous, and the legislation, though well-intentioned, was plainly unconstitutional under the state constitution.

  5. Ten years ago today Colorado‘s environmental community lost a titan.

A Daughter Finds Unexpected Discoveries on Her Father’s Favorite Trail

Randy’s professional life was nontraditional in comparison. A college dropout, he was a fierce and largely self-taught intellectual who dedicated his career to energy sustainability and climate action. He cofounded the nonprofit Community Office for Resource Efficiency in Colorado’s Roaring Fork Valley, and served for more than a decade as its director. Under his leadership, CORE developed innovative programs to promote renewable energy and energy efficiency. Randy later continued this work through freelance writing and advocacy.
