Democrat Ken Gordon has a great new ad online that you can see here which shows him swimming with sharks (well, floating with sharks, anyway). If this gets on TV, it is the kind of ad that could win the Secretary of State race for him, because it’s different and it’s funny. In a race for a seat that the public doesn’t understand and doesn’t probably care about, a memorable ad like this could be just the trick.

I heard he’s going to be up on TV later this week and he’d be crazy not to use some of this footage.
He should use shots from each video; Ken jumping out of a airplane and diving with sharks. Wow, what a great ad in the middle of all the negative attack ads that people are sick of.
I don’t think Coffman has, so that’s a huge advantage if KG will get up on television.
ken has been consistently outraising mike every period since mid-summer. i’m not sure how much more cash-on-hand he has, but it’s got to be upwards of $60,000.
in a downticket race like this where neither candidate is known, a big advantage like that–and not anything else–will determine who wins on e-day.
I loved the ad Gordon produced when he first announced his candidacy. I think that running it would be more effective than “sharks.”
I’d also like to see some of the ProgressNowAction ads on TV. Jen Caltrider has been doing a fantastic job with them. Her Ref C ads were stellar.
He looks like a schmuck. Wouldn’t we want a serious person to be Secretary of State…for once?
I have more confidence in candidates who are willing to take risks and forge unique campaign trails (such as Ken, who has a knack for creativity) than trust the run of the mill sameness that occurs during election politicking by most candidates.
Ads that include attack after attack do nothing but promote more attacks.
Thank goodness Ken can be light-hearted during this SOS campaign. We need more people in this world who can, in the midst of all this negativity and seriousness, propagate hopeful optimism and humor.
Any candidate who is willing to swim with sharks rather than be the shark has got my vote.
