  1. Tom Suozzi is the canary in the coal mine ……

Migrant Crisis Complicates Democrats’ Bid to Regain George Santos’s Seat – The New York Times (nytimes.com)

We're going to see a lot of commercials of people running across the border courtesy of the GOP this fall. We're going to see some commercials trying to explain why nothing was done to stop it from the Democrats.

When you're explaining, you're losing, expecially if that explanation is something complicated and cannot fit on a sound bite or a bumper sticker.

    1. Special election has immigration as a top issue.

But immigration cuts in many directions. Voters react to IMMIGRANT HORDE … but likely also have read coverage of the Republican House shouting “DEAD ON ARRIVAL” for immigration reform.

Early forecast – a narrow win for Suozzi.

      Suozzi leads. POLITICO today:

NEW YORK MINUTE: Democratic candidate Tom Suozzi led Republican nominee Mazi Pilip by a slim four points in the battleground Long Island special election, according to a Newsday/Siena College poll released this morning.

      Not just polling….

Early voting numbers from the first three days show Democrats turning out in both Nassau County and Queens at a greater clip than Republicans as of Monday night.

      1. You may be right but did you notice how he is doing it?

By running to the middle on immigration and on Israel v. Hamas.

Here's hoping it holds up and he takes the seat.

  2. Torpedo the immigration deal in Congress so I can use immigration as an issue to criticize Biden on so I will win the election so I can pardon myself so I don’t go to jail. What are the odds on that multiple parlay? If you think about it if any part of that equation doesn’t work Trumpy is fucked, and of course a Presidential pardon doesn’t work for state crimes.

And finally, none of this grand desperation ploy, zero, has to do with anything other than Trump himself. Reach for the stars Donnie ! America first !!!

    1. "none of this grand desperation ploy, zero, has to do with anything other than Trump himself."

So, that won't preclude it from succeeding. His moronic followers believe that their interests and his are inextricably interwoven.  They genuinely believe that a vote for his self-interest is a vote for their self-interest.

  3. "While Mr. Hur decided not to prosecute Mr. Biden, some of his reasons for doing so are likely to raise new questions about the president’s conduct and his mental state, portraying him as unable in interviews to remember key dates of his own vice presidency — and even precisely when his son Beau had died."

-from the NY Times this afternoon

Special Counsel in Biden Classified Documents Case Will Not Seek Charges – The New York Times (nytimes.com)

Here we go. They opted not to prosecute Biden because he would have a mental status defense.

    Competent to stand trial?  Maybe.

Competent to hold the nuclear launch code?  Yes.

This is going to be another huge piñata for the media.
