  1. I take this with more grains of salt than Lot's wife in the Bible, but there's polling showing Democrat Ike McCorkle ahead of the Crotch-grabbing Carpetbagger in CD-4! It also shows Sonnenberg ahead of McCorkle. If anything, it sort of reinforces that someone knew she was in political trouble in CD-3, and voters in the 4th will at the bare minimum have their reservations.

But the poll has lots of undecideds, so I just think it's interesting and not definitive.

    1. Grain of salt indeed.  I don't see McCorkle being able to overcome how red that district is.  It makes CD-3 look like San Francisco.

      1. "If you're going, to Mont-rose County, Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair…" But I do think the poll provides a believable illustration that one super-recent transplant running in the 4th has some perty strong negatives. I don't think it really suggests voters are going to Feel The Cork in 2024.

  2. Wow, I agree that this is probably not how things will play out in November, but it does show how much Bimbobert is disliked – or hated – even by Republicans!

I think she could be trending into perilous Marilyn Musgrave levels of dislike/hatred. "Musty,” of course, has the dubious distinction of being the only Republican in like the last 50 years to manage to actually lose Colorado's Eastern Plains CD.

  3. DJT is going through some things this morning.

Trump’s Truth Social company posted its new financials to the SEC today. The firm generated just $4.1 million (with an M) revenue for all of 2023, while racking up $58 million in net losses. Market cap is > $6 billion.

Trump Casinos started at $45 & hit a low of 17 cents before forcing Donald out & declaring bankruptcy.

(This isn’t an April 1 joke.)

Trump Media stock tanks as new filing reveals heavy losses, 'greater risks' on Trump's involvement

      In this article:

Trump Media & Technology Group (DJT), the parent company of Donald Trump's social media platform Truth Social, sank more than 22% in midday trading on Monday following its blockbuster debut last week.

      1. Truth Social (DJT) is going the way of Trump Hotels and Casino and Trump Entertainment, which is bankrupt. Anyone who buys that stock is a moron. One of my buddys bought puts on it though. I think he'll do well.

        1. I'm a little hazy on the math, but did read:

Trump’s windfall – at least on paper – arises from the fact that he owns 58% of TMTG and controls roughly 79M shares, worth $4.8B, based on recent prices near $62.

Today's report showed income and spending.  And the price tanked.

It turns out that Truth Social brought in $4.1 million in 2023. Not particularly great, but not particularly bad, either. However, when Truth Social revealed that it turned in a net loss of $58.2 million, that’s when things got particularly bad. Much of that loss, however, traces back to an interest expense.

So, at the current price of $48.36, his windfall on paper would be $3.82B.  Each dollar drop drops Trump's value by $79 million.

I understand a billion here, a billion there, and pretty soon we're talking real money.

    2. STOP THE STEAL!!!!  {pair of small clammy hands flailing in the air}  STOP THE STEAL!!!!

Time for a big gummint bailout! Too big to fail!

Maybe the RNC can pump some $$$$ into it to drive up its value.

      1. $DJT is the new $FJB.  It's dropping faster than HoBo at a Beetlejuice performance.

        Sound familiar?

According to the report, $FJB promised significant returns to investors, and a commitment to send a portion of transaction fees to veterans groups and patriotic causes. Charities Bannon cited in his promotion of the coin, including the Wounded Warrior Project, claim they have not received any monetary gifts from $FJB, according to ABC News.

Claims that a significant portion of the funds intended for charity have gone “missing” have raised concerns that investors in $FJB have fallen victim to a scam. An administrator for the company messaged users on the $FJB Discord server, telling them that while the funds were not “stolen” they “did not go to the purpose they were intended for, and that’s as far as we’ll speak on,” according to ABC News. The same administrator later claimed that Epshteyn was “working on recovering our funds.”

    1. I can't imagine Roseanne Barr would REALLY enjoy the life that would result from #1776.  But maybe she wouldn't have to wait around for an inconclusive war to reach an end point of a military surrender – #1781 – or the peace treaty – #1783,

Would she really enjoy the status of a woman even a century later than #1776?

At the outset of the [20th] century, women could not vote or hold office in any state, they had no access to higher education, and they were excluded from professional occupations. American law accepted the principle that a wife had no legal identity apart from her husband. She could not be sued, nor could she bring a legal suit; she could not make a contract, nor could she own property. She was not permitted to control her own wages or gain custody of her children in case of separation or divorce.

    1. Reuters says:

DAMASCUS, April 1 (Reuters) – Iran's consulate in the Syrian capital Damascus was flattened on Monday in what Syrian and Iranian media described as an Israeli air strike, a startling apparent escalation of conflict in the Middle East that would pit Israel against Iran and its allies.

A Lebanese security source, speaking to Reuters, said one of the dead was Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a senior commander in Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC). Iranian state television said several Iranian diplomats had been killed.
