Presenting The "Dave Williams Ticket?"

  • by: Colorado Pols

Next Tuesday, the Colorado Republican Party’s Capitol Club is holding an event featuring a group of Republican primary candidates with one thing apparently in common: the support, primary process be damned, of Colorado GOP chairman and CO-05 congressional candidate Dave “Let’s Go Brandon” Williams:

This invitation was subsequently updated to include another headlining speaker, also a Republican running in a primary election:

Under the longstanding rules that barred the Colorado Republican Party from endorsing candidates before the primary election, the only candidate speaking at this event wouldn’t cause controversy is Greg Lopez, who alone possesses an actual nomination by the party for an upcoming election. As readers know, “Raging” Ron Hanks, Janak “Dr. Nick” Joshi, and especially Rep. Lauren Boebert have Republican opponents in the upcoming June 25th primary, many of whom are most displeased by the party’s brazen endorsements of candidates allied with Williams. Dagny Van Der Jagt, for her part, is a Republican DA candidate running against former DA-turned radio host George Brauchler, another longstanding resident on Williams’ shit list.

With all of this said, Boebert is the only candidate on this list to our knowledge who has been formally endorsed by the Colorado GOP under the controversial new rules approved by party at this year’s state assembly. Williams and Hanks are longtime friends and have held campaign events together, while Joshi has been strongly supported by the hard-right talk radio and podcast circuit, helping Joshi to make the primary ballot at assembly. All that remains is for the party to formally declare these candidates to be an official party-approved slate–and that’s what we’ll be watching for next Tuesday.

The invite does say “credentialed press” will be allowed in. So if you’re on Williams’ list of approved media outlets, don’t miss this chance to catch the “Dave Williams Ticket” on the same stage.

  1. Dagny van der Jagt is listed???

WTF. She is running against George Brauchler for DA in 23rd JD.

What is the history of bad blood between Boy George and Dave Williams?

  2. Laura Coates at CNN is reporting on someone self-immolating outside the courthouse in NYC.

I know we were joking about heads exploding if Johnson and the Dems got the Ukraine bill across the finish line, but only metaphorically.

    1. AP reports on the NYPD news conference about the Florida Man outside the courthouse.

Officials give update outside Manhattan courthouse

      By MIKE BALSAMO, RUTH BROWN

The man who set himself on fire across the street from the courthouse is in critical condition in a burn unit, police said Friday.

The man first walked into the park around 1:30 p.m., took out pamphlets espousing conspiracy theories and spread them around the park before he doused himself in an accelerant and set himself on fire, officials said.

Officials believe the man had traveled from Florida to New York in the last few days.

      1. Yeah, I don't think he was MAGA … "Maxwell Azzarello holds a sign outside the Manhattan court on Thursday."  Sign says:

"TRUMP IS WITH BIDEN AND THEY ARE ABOUT TO FASCIST COUP US"

Not certain how to classify that sort of conspiracy theory …
