Rep. Jason Crow (D).

As the Aurora Sentinel reports, the city’s representative in Congress Rep. Jason Crow is in the district this week touting funding he secured through earmarks for important local programs, including $3 million for the Aurora Central Library:

Aurora library officials touted a $3 million congressional appropriations contribution, funding a project to provide a new and welcoming space for local teens, officials said Monday during a ceremony lauding the funds.

Aurora Democratic Congressperson Jason Crow sponsored a host of funding requests from across the 6th Congressional District this year, addressing a wide range of needs and requests, this one promoting changes in the city’s Central Library…

Crow secured more than $12.2 million of federal money to the state in congressional appropriation earmarks.

Local projects that also received procurement money this year include the Anschutz Medical Center’s Rural eConsult Expansion, a new STEM and Workforce Training and Education Space at the Community College of Aurora, and funding for a pedestrian-bicycle bridge over Parker Road near South Peoria Street.

Business as usual for the popular Rep. Crow, who has helped deliver a long list of wins for the 6th District in the major infrastructure and appropriations bills passed under President Joe Biden–and doesn’t have the added contradiction some lawmakers on the other side wrestle with after voting against the projects they later take credit for (here’s looking at you, Lauren Boebert). But we couldn’t help but take note of one accompanying moment of good-natured ball-busting, in an official Aurora city photo:

That’s Aurora Mayor Mike Coffman, the Republican who Jason Crow ousted from Congress in 2018 after years of holding on to a seat that Republicans by the numbers shouldn’t have. Today after all those years of drama, it’s Coffman meekly accepting an oversized check on behalf of the city for federal funds Coffman might well have voted against if he was still in Congress.

And it’s going to look fabulous in Crow’s next mail piece.

  1. yeah…republicans are nothing but morons…they want to do away with public schools…what does that say about repubicans..? we need a State full of Jason Crows…

then there is boobs boebert…did she ever find her pimp?

  2. Read on Yahoo News this morning that this type of earmark results from a quiet deal between House Speaker Johnson and Minority Leader Jeffries.

Also read a nice expose article today on Jeffries. He just quietly goes about his business and makes thing happen, including reaching across the aisle. He listens to all members of the Dem caucus, including The Squad. But like Pelosi, the far lefties don’t control his agenda and his knowledge of what’s best for the country.
