  1. Notes from the Revolution: Jeffco GOP censures local leader who called for state party chair’s removal

“The actions taken of Chair Pallozzi in this matter have not been in the best interest of the Jeffco Party, its candidates, its supporters, or its members, and therefore have been, and are not, sanctioned nor approved,” states the censure resolution.

It bars Pallozzi from taking any action or communicating further in her role as chair when it comes to Williams’ anti-Pride messages.

The censure also renders all of her previous actions regarding Williams “null and void and all the results and/or consequences are revoked and retracted, including petitions, surveys, etc…”

I'm interested to see if there is a response from Nancy Pallozzi.

  2. Perhaps because a great deal of attention was paid to BLM, et al, during the Trump presidency, black men have a skewed vision of historical truth. I heard a black activist say he felt like he was doing better during the Trump years.

  3. Your rhetorical question can’t be answered “rationally”. You tend to label any response with which you disagree as “irrational”. But I’ll attempt to answer anyway: Bden doesn’t have a Black voter problem,; he has a young voter problem, which includes under-30s of all races. The two black women quoted in the article are young. They still say that they will vote for Biden as the lesser of two evils.

And   the main reason for “Biden-averse” leaning among young voters is Biden’s enabling of Netanyahu and the disproportionate cruelty of the Israeli response. The deliberate slaughter and starvation of the Palestinian population in Gaza is this generation’s Vietnam war. And they’re protesting, as we did in the 60s and 70s. And it isn’t going to go away.Support for a permanent cease-fire and mediated Two state solution is five to one among voters, according to thisHarvard youth poll

What’s saving Biden with young voters is his support for abortion and reproductive rights. 33% pro Biden with young women; 6% among young men.

The poll your article references says:

Most black voters in Pennsylvania and Michigan still plan to vote for Biden

Black or multiracial registered voters in Pennsylvania and Michigan were asked, ‘If the 2024 election for president were held today and you had the following six choices on your ballot, for whom would you vote or toward whom do you lean at this time?’

Another Spring 2024 Pew poll, with a farger sample size, says that

Bar charts showing that Most Black voters are aligned with the Democratic Party and would vote for Bien if the 2024 presidential election were held today

Today, American voters are about evenly split between the two major political coalitions, both in their partisan identification and in their presidential vote preference.

But Black voters remain largely aligned with the Democratic Party (83% identify with or lean to the Democrats), and 77% of Black registered voters say they would prefer to vote for Biden over Trump in the 2024 presidential election.

    1. Thank you, both, for your responses. But the premise of my question had to do with race and gender (black and brown men), not simply race.

Biden is still very popular among women of color, less so amongst men. (Maybe the repro choice issue. The gender gap has existed for decades.)

Duke may have hit the nail on the head when he said, "I heard activist say he felt like he was doing better during the Trump years." The guy probably was not doing better during the Trump years but he felt like he was and preception becomes reality in politics.

Your comments about the inversion of the age groupings popularity, KW, is true. Biden does poll better among the over 65 crowd – which is unusual for a Dem – while Trump does better among the under 30 groups. And the Gaza issue is clearly part of Biden's problem but I don't think it is the whole story. I guess the only good part of that is that old people tend to always turn out to vote while young people are more sporadic and unpredictable.

Here is a bigger problem for Biden: if low interest voters turned out, it helps Trump disproportionately.

      1. The President has a superpower, yet unleashed to its potential, that is impossible for the Orange Destructoon to replicate…Sincerity.

Uncle Joe, I believe, should start talking directly to the people. The onesTrump is trying to peel away with disinformation and manipulation of prejudice. He should speak directly to the voters and emphasize his social media presence.

If he makes sure to back off from his chippy-ness, and talk to the people, he will be fine. His opponent will continue to alienate more and more voters as time goes on.

        1. It would help even more if the president began to be more specific about the accomplishments of his economy and administration. Talk about how much better things are now than in the Trump economic chaos of 2020. Despite residual inflation, things are better.

          1. "Despite residual inflation, things are better."

And even the residual inflation was virtually non-existent last month.
