“Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground.”

Happy Juneteenth …
Election workers are NOT taking the day off. All of the 115 voting centers are expected to be open. 417 dropboxes are available throughout the state.
As of midnight on the 17th, 407,968 ballots had been reported to the Secretary of State. About 3.8 million eligible voters (minor party affiliates everywhere EXCEPT CO-04 didn’t get ballots). That is about 10.7% participating. More numbers and pictures from the Secretary of State’s office are available at https://www.coloradosos.gov/pubs/newsRoom/pressReleases/2024/20240618PrimaryReturns8daysout.pdf
Some interesting stuff about CD4 in there. Just less than half of returned ballots are from Douglas County – though both the D Trisha Calvarese and the R Greg Lopez are from Doug-Co. Also, about 34% of returns are from unaffiliated voters, who make up very close to half of eligible voters in the district. Rs basically double Ds in voter registrations, but if the unaffiliateds break Calvarese it could at least get interesting!
There you go again with your Arabic numerals equations!
Yeah. Gotta wonder if R turnout will be low since they know Lopez isn't the one they're really voting for over the long haul.
I just checked the Doug-Co GOP primary ballot because that's where the biggest voter numbers are. It looks like there are possibly plenty of reasons to vote – of course who becomes the November CD4 candidate, 3-way Commissioner race, and 2-ways for State Board of Ed and DA, with a few state legislature races thrown in.
The CD4 special election in the sample ballot I saw was at the bottom of the ballot, but not sure if that's how it's printed. Some people do get voter fatigue and quit early. But I suspect turnout will be decent anyway because of all the other stuff on the ballot.
That's right. They have the Battle of the Titans: Boy George v. Dagny.
I know nothing about Dagny. Does Boy George really want to hurt her? Does he really want to make her cry?
I've had kind of a crummy day, 2Jung, and that made me laugh. Thanks.
Always happy to help, cook! I saw that Culture Club video for the first time in ages a few days ago. Boy George aside, the Club was sort of a clever little band with a clean sound and good hooks.
Dagny Van Der Jagt for District Attorney (votefordagny.com)
She has the coveted endorsements of Tom Tancredo and RMGO.
Guess the karma chameleon professes to support the Second Amendment while at the same time, wants to take away Dudley Brown’s guns.
