A fixture in Colorado political journalism is calling it a career.
Sandra Fish, Data Journalist for The Colorado Sun (and many other outlets, including the Boulder Daily Camera), announced today in her own understated way that she was swimming off into the sunset.
From The Colorado Sun’s “Sunriser” newsletter:
“Fish,” as she was commonly known in political and journalism circles in Colorado, had focused recently for the Sun on digging through spreadsheets and other publicly-available information in order to better explain what was really happening in political fundraising and spending. She also made national news in April after she was tossed out of the State Republican Assembly for the crime of doing her job.
Other Colorado journalists, particularly those who cover politics, took to social media to issue a fond farewell to Fish. We’re happy (and sad) to join them.
Good journalism is essential to a functioning democracy, and few did it better than Fish.

Great nuts and bolts reporter. She'll be missed.
Yo Pols, Fish would've flagged the diary headline
