  1. Monday night's speeches had a whole series of "you should see this" moments.

I'd recommend Hillary Clinton's speech, especially the concluding paragraphs.

      1. AOC and Andy Beshear were the only speakers at DNC Day 1 who kept to their allotted time. The others were often a 2x their time.

        Kate Riga at TPM:

After marinating in it overnight, I think AOC had the best speech of day one (which makes it even funnier that she was one of very few to keep to the time constraints — let that be a lesson, longwinded pols). Democrats so often fall victim to laundry-listing their speeches, making each a mini-State of the Union. Hers was more singularly focused on the theme that this ticket is better for working people, and included vibrant anecdotes from her prior life (only six years ago!) when she was one of them. She worked with the crowd, rather than letting it disrupt her flow.

  2. Not fact-checked by me, but I've seen some posts saying RFKjr's running mate Nicole Shanahan is talking about the RFK campaign dropping out of the race to avoid hurting FDFQ???

“There’s two options that we're looking at and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and Waltz presidency because we draw more votes from Trump. Or we walk away right now and join forces with with Donald Trump and explain to our base why we're making this decision.”
