The RFK Jr. Diversion Didn't Work And Is Almost Over

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (I-Wormfood)

As CNN reports, after all the consternation involved in getting minor presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. on the ballot in Colorado, first controversially as the Libertarian Party’s nominee and then by his own devices, Kennedy’s campaign may be about to unceremoniously end with an endorsement of Donald Trump in exchange for a promised position in a (trigger warning) second Trump administration:

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate Nicole Shanahan said the Kennedy campaign is considering dropping out of the race and endorsing former President Donald Trump while framing the choice through her hope of reducing “the risk” of Vice President Kamala Harris becoming president.

In an interview with podcast host Tom Bilyeu posted on Tuesday, Shanahan acknowledged the Kennedy campaign’s recent conversations with the Trump campaign, which have centered on the possibility of Kennedy endorsing Trump in exchange for a role in Trump’s administration should he win. She framed the decision on whether to endorse Trump around its impact on Harris’ chances of victory in November, arguing Kennedy pulls more votes from Trump than from Harris.

“There’s two options that we’re looking at, and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris — Kamala Harris and (Tim) Walz presidency. Because we draw votes from Trump, or we draw somehow more votes from Trump,” she said. “Or we walk away right now and join forces with — with Donald Trump.”

Kennedy surrogates have done an exceedingly poor job of concealing the campaign’s true intended purpose of peeling away Democratic votes from the Democratic nominee, and Kennedy was caught in a video recording on the phone with Trump personally in July discussing how Trump was “going to win.” Kennedy also reportedly met with Trump during the recent Republican National Convention. But as a new poll out this week suggests once again, Democratic voters understand the assignment, and Kennedy’s campaign is pulling more support from Trump than Kamala Harris. Kennedy’s numbers overall have declined precipitously as the innumerable skeletons Kennedy freely admits are in his closet began to draw scrutiny, but even a single-digit hit could mean doom in a close race. Now that it’s the Trump campaign on the wrong side of that doom, Kennedy has come full circle to bite the intended beneficiary.

For any well-intentioned but misguided Kennedy supporters out there who have held on faithfully through the vaccine insanity and the brain worm and the sexual assault allegations and the dead bear dumped in Central Park because you could never vote for Trump but were also too cool for Joe Biden, the joke is about to be on you.

  1. For any well-intentioned but misguided Kennedy supporters out there who have held on faithfully through the vaccine insanity and the brain worm and the sexual assault allegations and the dead bear dumped in Central Park…

If this is you, GFY. You're too stupid to participate.

    1. If you don't mind me tagging on, bullshit!, I would hazard saying "GFY repeatedly" for rfkjr bandwagoneers who are too cool for the establishment but don't acknowledge the spoiler effect inherent in the stupid Electoral College.

      1. It appears RFK Jr. is going to "address the nation" about the status of his campaign shortly. I know he's a Kennedy ana all, but jeez, aren't we getting a little full of ourselves ? The nation DGAF.

  2. If the pandemic showed one thing, it's the effectiveness of vaccines in combatting viruses.  Sadly, there is a large plurality of Americans that are ignorant, uneducated, undereducated, or, as in RFK Jr.'s case, arrogant enough to believe he knows better than actual experts.  I won't shed a tear if a virus ends him.  What I just don't get is how Larry David can be responsible for Cheryl Hines being RFK Jr.'s wife.

  3. Shanahan may well be an even more massive piece of shit than RFK Jr., which is saying a lot. It'll be nice having one less rapist in the race, I suppose.

  4. It is pretty sad. Bobby clearly is having late-life emotional issues. He'd be better off just fading away now instead of wrecking the good will his name still engenders with most Americans.

Well, if he endorses Trump it will just mean that the looney conspiracy mongers are all in the same place.
