DENVER: In order to expose Gabe Evans’ personal mission to strip the women of Colorado of their rights and freedoms, ProgressNow Colorado, the state’s largest multi-issue advocacy organization, launched their campaign Women Against Gabe Evans beginning with a petition that will be digitally shared throughout the 8th Congressional District of Colorado.
“There is a reason why Colorado women dislike Gabe Evans the more they learn about him,” stated Sara Loflin, executive director of ProgressNow Colorado.
“It’s not just that Evans opposes women’s reproductive freedoms and mocked the importance of women’s healthcare, even calling a fundamental right to abortion ‘ridiculous,’” noted Loflin. “Not only did he take the time to speak out against Title X (a program that provides family planning and preventative health resources such as breast cancer screenings) this year, he also joked that he knows nothing about ‘that female reproductive care stuff’ because he ‘don’t got the right parts’–showing Evans’ true colors.”
ProgressNow Colorado launched a website –- womenagainstgabe.org –asking for voters to join the “Women Against Gabe” to hold the extreme candidate for Congress accountable.
“Gabe Evans is arrogant and intent on helping Donald Trump strip women of their fundamental freedoms,” said Loflin. “It’s our job to make sure every voter in Colorado’s Eighth Congressional District knows the truth about Gabe Evans before they cast their ballot.”
Anti-Freedom to Choose: “Life begins at conception. If the circumstances wouldn’t warrant killing a born person, the unborn also should not be killed.” [iVoterGuide, Gabe Evans, accessed 11/16/23]
Called the right to abortion “ridiculous”: Gabe Evans called the right to abortion “ridiculous” and proudly declared he is “about as pro-life as they come.”
F rating for Mental Health and Women’s Issues: Evans received a failing score from the Mental Health Association of Colorado and a failing score from the Women’s lobby of Colorado.
A Campaign of Extremists: Evans was forced to fire his top political director after her long record of extreme, racist, and violent statements was exposed by local media.
Opposes Public Education: Evans supports diversion of public education funding to support private schools, and promises to “break down” the Department of Education.
Outlier on Medical Needs: Evans was one 10 out of 65 to oppose capping the price of an EpiPen and also voted against capping the price of insulin.
Right-wing college crusader: Evans attended Patrick Henry College a right-wing radical college that encourages women to fit around their “husband’s career.”
Supports Trump’s mass deportations: “I think you have to, definitely, prioritize it,” said Evans when asked if he would support mass deportations under a second Trump administration.

Progress Now Colorado finally does something worthwhile.
How the fuck do you present yourself as pro-child and oppose capping the price of an Epi-Pen? His kid's school nurse may or may not have one of those on hand for kids with severe allergies. So it's OK for a poor kid to choke to death, but rich kids are golden. Got it.
I have had to carry epipens for the last two years and will have to carry them forever. The first time I got them, I paid $240, the second time, I paid $290, and this summer, I paid the state capped $60. For anyone (including you Gabe), who tells me I should have to pay "market" price (i.e., hyperinflated big Pharma tag) for medication that I have to carry with me at all times to possibly keep me from dying, I say "say that to my face." And then duck.
Geez. I remember when Barb Kirkmeyer was considered a right wing loon. This guy makes her look prositively normal.
