Who is up to replace Bennet in the next election?
Bennet's not up for re-election until 2028, so who knows what could happen between now and then. Hick's up in 2026 and he's said he'll be running.
Colordo Sun –
Add Bennet to Jared team of holding Dems to a heavy standard that magats need not care about.
I'm with ya, Bennett with 2 "t"s! The list of pardons we'll see over the next 4 years will make Hunter's seem quaint.
Bennet has one T.
Sorry, my comment was meant for Pam Bennett
Would have been a lot cooler if he pardoned all non-violent drug felons. Could have given a speech about how he realized through his son how draconian the 1991 crime bill was. But, nah.
He should. We can hope someone puts a bug in his ear about it. That would change the accusations of MAGAts from familial favoritism to the perennial chant from the GOP of "soft on crime'.
I keep wondering if Biden could "pardon" all those involved in DACA —
no immigration crime, no deportation would be my expectation, but I am not a lawyer.
That would be amazing. A lot of things would be amazing but the D's seem to prefer clutching tightly to their mores (conveniently benefiting the status quo) instead of tearing some shit up for the benefit of the marginalized.
The President can pardon, but the President does not have the power to confer citizenship. (Keep in mind that DACA is essentially a workaround.)
