Pick Your Poison: Which Trump Cabinet Member Concerns You Most?

Gutless Senate Republicans today approved the nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, the latest blind acquiescence to the whims of President Donald Trump.

Clockwise from top left: Pam Bondi (AG); Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. (HHS); Tulsi Gabbard (DNI); Kash Patel (FBI); Kristi Noem (DHS); Pete Hegseth (SecDef).

Trump has made plenty of, um, questionable choices for top posts in his administration. Many of these choices will likely prove hazardous to the health of Americans for different reasons? But which selection is the most concerning? Like a bowl of potato chips, it’s impossible to pick just one.

So, naturally, we thought we’d ask our readers: Which Trump nominee looms as the most frightening for whatever reason? A majority of Trump’s top-level choices have been approved by the Senate, so this is no longer a theoretical question (Kash Patel, Trump’s pick for FBI Director, has not yet been approved by the full Senate but is moving inexorably down the board).

What say you, Polsters?

  1. They're all crazy, so part of my vote comes from the crazy who has the agency that can do the most harm. That's DoD. The potential for corruption and pointless wars in the hands of a toxic male is too great to ignore.

  2. At least Hickenlooper and Bennet didn't jump ship this time. That's something . . . I guess? Has Polis sent a glowing congratulatory message yet?

At least one of this sociopathic lying junkie's stated goals – combating obesity – will be easy. All he need do is sit back and watch as rising prices and falling income combine to render food unaffordable.

  3. Many of these people are inexperienced.  Some add that they are hostile to the mission of the department they will head.  But Gabbard gets my vote, as she is both AND her work will NOT be out in the open, subject to oversight and criticism.

  4. I choose Gabbard because most of the damage the others do can be fight in the courts and eventually undone. Not so with Gabbard. There's no way to turn back the clock when it comes to world politics.

  5. Kennedy scares me. Infant mortality is already up alarmingly in the U.S., possibly because they were damaged pregnancies that shouldn't have been brought to birth. With Kennedy in charge of the following agencies (partial list) our collective health will suffer:

    • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): The primary health protection agency in the US, which conducts research and analysis to prevent disease
    • Food and Drug Administration (FDA): Ensures the safety of food, drugs, medical devices, and cosmetics
    • Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA): Funds health programs for underserved Americans, and runs workforce education programs
    • Indian Health Service (IHS): Provides health services to American Indians and Alaska Natives
    • National Institutes of Health (NIH): Supports biomedical and behavioral research, and trains young researchers
    • Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA): Works to address substance abuse and mental health issues
    • Administration for Children & Families (ACF): Promotes the economic and social well-being of families, children, and communities
    • Administration for Community Living (ACL): Focuses on the care and health of older adults, people with disabilities, families, and caregivers
