Ken Gordon and DOH!

DOH!

From The Denver Post:

Senate Democrats got a surprise at a pre-session gathering at Senate Majority Leader Ken Gordon’s house. As they gathered for a presentation on Gordon’s TV set, a surprise popped up: A pornographic movie. Gordon said senators were not exposed to an explicit scene; rather, they saw the head of a woman who was apparently having sex. “There was this little glitch,” Gordon said. “It was funny at the time. It was an accident and no one was intending to do something like that.”

It’s funny that Gordon doesn’t even try to explain this, and in fairness, there’s not much he could have said that would make it sound better.

  1. Come on people…how much of a non-story is this?  So there may have been porn present, who cares!  We should be paying attention to the issues and the great work Sen. Gordon has done for our state.  Case in point-the countless hours of work on C&D, and the countless hours to come he will work to put our state’s budget back on track.

Ken-keep up the good work!  Go Blue!

  2. Ken Gordon is a buffoon.
It is good to see that his rude and inconsiderate nature extends to his colleagues. Duh, Ken maybe you should hide the porn before Joan and the others come over. Besides you might anger your Mommy who you are counting on to finance your campaign for Secretary of State

  3. They cannot attack Gordon’s politics, so they attack his personal life, since they do not have one.  Are we not supposed to have a line drawn to separate our public and personal lives?  Why is it that Republicans always want to get involved in everyone else’s private life?  I think Republican’s lack a sex life. It explains their obsession with what everyone else is doing in the bedroom!

  4. Seriously, you should lay off the coffee if you are upset about this story. I don’t think anybody is attacking Gordon for anything. This is just a funny story because it’s embarrassing. I don’t think the person that is involved has anything to do with why it is funny. You could replace Gordon’s name with a million other names and the story is still funny for the same reason. The only thing that would make it funnier is if it had happened to somebody like James Dobson.

  5. This is not news. It wasn’t a “glitch”, it was merely an accident…and an embarrassing accident at that. No one was hurt. There are more important things to worry about this session than what type of TV the Senator is watching in his free time. And if any of you are down at the capitol on Friday afternoons, you will realize that there is very little of that (free time). Sen. Gordon is a diligent public servant who gives up much of his personal life to ensure the citizens of Colorado a great state (as evidenced by his work on C&D during his “summer vacation”). So for those of you who want to jump up on your high “trojan” horse and criticize Sen. Gordon for this unfortunate event, go ahead, cast the first stone!

  6. It’s a funny story.  Those who don’t know Ken will see it as such and those who do know Ken will see it as an illustration of his aloof-space-cadet nature!

  7. Ask Sir Robin.
He will tell you it was Bush’s fault. The president must have had someone plant that nasty film because all Democrats are pure as the driven snow, and all Republicans are evil.

  8. I agree with Gecko, Robin / Peter / (Insert new Moniker) would go off on a tirade of how this was a GOP plant.

The story is funny because we have all had the little oops moments that we look back and laugh about.  The only question that I have is did the film star a former candidate for California Governor?

  9. I’m with Gecko, Go Raiders, Ted and the rest…lighten up and have a laugh once in a while, everybody.  Ken Gordon sure does and that’s the best thing about him.  But on reflection, I think Surly Robin is right, this is somehow Bush’s fault, and it proves he’s the worst president ever and we should impeach him.  And Coloradopols, by publishing this story, is actually part of the cover-up.  Trust me on this.

  10. BadMoon-  That is a great question..

As for Republicans jumping on this story; Please it would be funny no matter who it happened to, Rep, Dem, Ind, your mom whoever

  11. Dudes – always check the TV to make sure the porn channel isn’t on before (insert appropriate name here for your situation) wife/mother/ Senate colleagues settle down in front of the tube.  It’s standard practice.

That being said, yes it’s embarrasing and don’t we all wish that politicians’ personal lives weren’t played out in the media.  But, we blew WAY past that line a couple of decades ago. Get over it.

And, speaking of getting over things, Gordon will get over the one-day story and the ensuing embarrassment.  What seems to be more interesting is if it was Democratic colleagues in the room, who among Ken’s Democratic “friends” felt it necessary to tell the world and embarrass him?  Watch your back, Ken.

  12. Mike is sitting on an anthill in Iraq.
Gigi is raising money and support.
    Gordon is showing porn.
Gigi will win election and be in a position to move up the ladder. Ken, sorry but there are no more seats that you Mommy can buy for you

  13. I’m betting most of the Senators there have seen porn before. Most are probably closet internet porn addicts.
I really don’t think it is as bad as if it happened at a convention of nuns……

  14. Oh ye detractors! It’s so easy to shoot the messaenger rather than face the facts.

If you don’t do your homework on Bu$hCo, you’re relegated to the corner with your dunce hat on.

    The issues are:

    Security
    Economy
    Justice
    Environment

    Here’s Shrub’s grades:

Security:  D- (Wrong offense, wrong defense, and full of lies)
Economy: D- Misplaced tax breaks, no thought to the future so we can become energy independent)

Justice: F  He’s breaking and flaunting the law. Why don’t one of our enlightened readers try it ( Voyeur? Gecko? Go Raiders? )

    Environment:  F  Totally oblivious!

    Go twiddle your twats!

    Wake up!

  15. I’ll contribute to that fund as well.

I wonder if Robin / Peter / (whatever the hell his name du jour is) knows that we are laughing at him, not with him?

  16. I don’t know how many times I have to tell you this before you get it right, Sir High School Dropout.
The president should “flaunt” the law.  If you’ve got a law, flaunt it!
The problem with the lefties you love is that they FLOUT the law.
    Flaunting, good.  Flouting, bad.
    Work on it.
