Friday Poll: CD-6

  • by: Colorado Pols

Now that Tom Tancredo appears closer to not running for re-election, which we’ve reported on previously, it’s time to take an early look at the favorites to succeed him.

Click below to do the vote thing.

Because no Democrat has thus far expressed serious interest in CD-6, we don’t have one listed on the poll.

Who is the Frontrunner in CD-6 if Tancredo Leaves?

        1. … in the congressional district than the senate district, and she’s nothing if not ambitious. She’s also ubiquitous throughout the east and south sides of the 6th (I’d be surprised if she has any profile at all in south jeffco though).

          1.   With enough other candidates in the primary, she could pull it off.  Remember, Tancredo only won with about 26% in the ’98 GOP primary. (And of course Lamborn received his overwhelming mandate of 27% last Aug.)
With the Congressional race, all Stafford has to do is get through the primary and she’s D.C. bound.

      1. …was once involved with an “experiment” to determine whether prayer could enhance the growth of mung beans.
Blessed are the bacon bits indeed for they, along with croutons, shall inherit the world!

  1. I’d say Harvey.  This year at the Legislature he’s been movin’ and shakin’.  Offerin’ up amendments on Dem bills like he’s handin’ party favors.  Been unusually eloquent too.

      1. I don’t agree with his positions on nearly any issue, but I respect him.  It is hard to argue with someone who actually put his own political ambitions on hold to go to Iraq and help out with the elections—he’s definitely not a “chicken hawk” type of republican that seems so pervasive these days.  He’s a straight shooter who was willing to put his own ass on the line instead of just other people’s kids for a war that he supports.

        I respect that.

    1. ….but standing amongst David Balmer, Little Armstrong, Calamity Jane Norton and John Andrews, that’s not a high hurdle to get over!

    1. As far as I can tell, no one is excluded. By all means, post your positions, make your arguments, engage in the (hopefully rational, but always robust) exchange of ideas. It costs nothing but time and effort to lay out your wares and haggle with passers-by. Why complain, then, that you don’t like the offerings, when you’ve been given a free stall exactly as desirably situated as the rest (or shop elsewhere, if these lefty points of view are too offensive to endure)?

    2. but I have to agree with you.  A lot of the people on this site remind me of why dems have a reputation of stealing defeat from the jaws of victory.

  2. Hockey isn’t A sport.  It’s the only sport.

Betting I never post again, and likely never read it again.

I’ve been a professional in Colorado politics for 18 years now, and I’ve rarely witnessed a bigger waste of time — except maybe paying for political ads in the Statesman. 🙂
