From today’s EXTRA! sidebar in the Rocky Mountain News:
“If there’s a picket line, I’ll accept the nomination at the headquarters of the AFL-CIO in Denver.”
Dennis Kucinich, Ohio longshot Democratic presidential contender, campaigning in Iowa and threatening that Denver had better find labor peace before next summer’s Democratic National Convention.
As you’ve read elsewhere by now, DNC Chairman Howard Dean’s visit to Denver went smoothly yesterday, just like we knew it would once it became clear that labor’s toothless threats to block next year’s convention were being laughed off by pretty much everybody. AFL-CIO Presdient John Sweeney was apparently kept from meeting Dean by airline trouble, but nobody seemed to care much.
Dennis “<1%" Kucinich knows the feeling…

Dennis Kucinich and Labor seem to have the same grasp on reality.
How often will they shoot themselves in the foot?
as they have already, I’m surprised there is any foot left to hit!
Nice!
Didn’t ol Denny come in a strong 3rd place in the moveon.org poll? I just lost any last shred of respect that I may have had for moveon.
I really like where Kucinich stands on most issues, despite this over the top ploy.
His, and other long shot candidate’s running exposes a flaw in our primary system compared to the good ole Smoke Filled Room system. Or a parliamentry one.
Once upon a time men like DK knew that they held little chance of winning the party’s nomination, but they could influence platforms and wrangle promises. Now, you lose and you are out except for perhaps a few die hard state reps who didn’t get the primary word.
What I say here isn’t just about Dems, but both parties.
I’m in Labor’s pocket!
more..on an annual basis.. than those who actually build the quality into the product that’s sold. Let me remind you before you “vote”…the inventor is typically screwed in the process as well.
