Because Alva's just like everyone else who's met the man?
Why does your new software suck so bad, and do you plan to do anything about it? I post one example below – threading is impossible to read on an iPhone.

I can attest to that. It only takes about four or so comments for the threading to narrow to just one word per line.
I had called for an upgrade because Soapblox was showing its age (and I suspect it was not being supported any longer anyway), but this has been disappointing overall.

What I am trying to point out is that once a comment thread gets gets more than a couple of responses it becomes unreadable on a smartphone. There must be a settting on the software that allows it to show responses without reducing the screen as shown in the image to one word per line.
and I think when a coment thread gets more than a few replies is also when the "reply" button disappears though it may be more random than that
I think you're right. It disappears when there are a lot of nested boxes. Maybe a specific cut off number?

We need to be able to preview comments. We need to be able to quickly see a thread and see who has responded to our comments.
It used to be more fun. Although, the crude language has fallen off…I don't know if there is a corelation or not?
