Romer's Riding Buses?

  • by: Colorado Pols

We’re getting all sorts of odd press releases today. This one from Chris Romer‘s campaign:

ROMER TO TAKE THE #15 BUS TO WORK ON THE 15TH

Voters to start receiving ballots tomorrow

(DENVER) — Like thousands of Denverites, mayoral candidate Chris Romer will be taking the bus to work on the morning of April 15 along the #15 bus route. He will be starting at Colfax and Broadway and taking the bus east to his office on Fillmore. Romer will be talking to voters about the mail in ballot process and why their vote is so important to the future of Denver.

The fact that Chris Romer has been spending so much time riding public transportation sends a good message. It makes Romer seem like the kind of guy who would, well, use private transportation. But this is getting a little ridiculous. What’s next? Is he gonna ride the #18 on the 18th?

We appreciate that Romer is trying so hard to make himself look like a populist. It’s probably working. But he’s trying way too hard with press releases like this.

Beyond that, it probably dilutes the message that Romer is a regular guy riding the bus to work when you send out a press release about it…

    1. … how dare you criticize Romer!

You know how well-funded the Romer campaign is when they can pay staffers to research the bus schedule and troll blogs to prove he is an “average guy”.

      1. Do you realize how many researchers were involved in tracking down that #18 data? And then it had to be vetted up five levels of consultants and laterally by four brand-managers. Jobs, jobs, jobs!
