We’ve been asking our readers all week which candidates they think will be elected in each of Denver’s races, and now we want to know who you think will win in District 8.
District 8 has a far different dynamic than the other races we’ve covered here because both candidates eked their way onto the ballot in a crowded write-in election. That means that both candidates have only had about a month to wage a real campaign and to connect with voters.
Wil Alston seems to be winning the yard-sign battle for whatever it’s worth, and has some real campaign experience under his belt. He’s well-known to a lot of Denver’s public policy wonks and has a network that may help with critical GOTV operations.
Albus Brooks has been working hard in the field and on doorsteps. He’s more charismatic than Alston and is an experienced operator in his own right. He’s well-connected to Hickenlooper’s network and that never hurts in Denver.
What say you, pols? Who will win in District 8? Remember, sockpuppet or not (cough, cough), vote for the candidate you think will win, not the candidate you want to win. That generally means that you should vote for the candidate you think has had the more effective campaign, not the one you like the most.
