Folks, after enduring a prolonged Mayoral race and even a little bit of controversy afterward, Mayor-elect Michael Hancock is set to soon drop the hyphen off his title.
So while Chris Romer is off swearing about a vote-ceiling and low returns, Hancock soon will be sworn in, and he’s launched a pretty impressive and lightweight website where you can RSVP to attend several ceremonies for Michael and his team.
From the Denver Together website:
DENVER – Mayor-elect Michael Hancock today announced the details of Denver’s inaugural ceremony and celebrations. All events will be free and open to the public.
“This will be a great celebration for all of Denver,” Mayor-elect Michael Hancock said. “It will be a time when the whole city can come together to celebrate moving Denver forward and deliver a great city.”
The inaugural festivities will kickoff with an Interfaith Prayer Service at Macedonia Baptist Church at 3 p.m. on July 17. The service will include representatives from Denver’s diverse religious communities.
The swearing in ceremony for newly elected and returning city officials will take place at the Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre in the Denver Performing Arts Complex beginning at 11 a.m on July 18.The inaugural celebration will follow at the Denver Botanic Gardens beginning at 6 p.m. and will featuring local food and bands.
Inviting all of Denver to come together to celebrate and move Denver forward, following Inauguration Day, Hancock will take a tour of neighborhood parks. On July 23, he will visit with communities throughout the city at several parks, including Berkeley Park, Harvey Park, Cook Memorial Park, Central Park and Town Center.
So RSVP if you’re into that kind of thing, because even as big as it is, we’re sure the Buell theater will fill up quick. You should also give a round of applause to Albatross Digital, who with this website and several others in recent memory is quickly becoming the go-to firm for Democratic e-strategy.
