Colorado GOP state senator ducks questions from Aurora victim’s father (via Raw Story )

The father of one of the victims of the July 2012 mass shooting in Colorado told Talking Points Memo on Friday that his state’s Senate Minority Leader, Bill Cadman (R), rebuffed him while sharing pictures of his son. “I walked right up to him, and I handed him one of the pictures, and I said, ‘…

  1. Damn. At least Waller said something nice to the Daily Caller. Now we know what Cadman said.

What a shameful episode in the Denver Post Auditorium that The Denver Post itself isn't covering…

      1. I can't tell you how many things I could ask that about. They have epically dropped the ball under Chuck Plunkett for political news time and again, and every time was in a way that favored the GOP. They bury stories and ignore the most important parts of other stories. It's happened too many times to be an accident.

  2. Amazing how they stick to the fiction that they represent the people while the Governor and majority of legislators constitute an elite unrepresentative government somehow elected by a progressive minority.  When will they admit that this is the government elected by the majority and does represent the majority's will?

There are two explanations for the make up of the state government:

    1) If, as Cadman would have it, it was elected only by progressives and that's why it includes a Democratic Governor and Democratic majority legislature then progressives must be the majority and therefore are the ordinary people Cadman claims the elite government doesn't represent.

    2) If progressives are in the minority and the majority Dem legislators and Dem Governor were elected by majorities, then they do represent the will of the majority, not just the will of progressives. Last time I checked, it still isn't possible to get elected with a minority of the votes. Well at least not in a non- electoral college process applicable only to the presidency or through fraud. See the 2000 election for examples of both.

Cadman is full of it on every possible level here but in no area is he more deficient than in basic human decency.

  3. The behavior of the Republicans in this clip is so predictably disgusting I'll let the video speak for itself.  But, I wonder why no one is talking about what drugs Mr. Holmes was on.  I mean really how many clinical trials did the UCH have him in?  It's public knowledge that the UCH receives most of its funding from industry.  And I do not have a problem with the law but the timing is suspect and a distraction from what the banks are doing.  Somehow we never fix the banking problems and unlawful foreclosures.

  4. What is so predictable is that conservatives like Cadman arrogantly proclaim loudly and often that they represent the will of the people without actually consulting the people on what they want.  The "Do Nothing that improves our civil society" is just as much a conceited attitude as the 60's liberal who thought that government involvement was needed to solve every problem.  What a nasty prick Cadman revealed himself to be.

    1. Yeah, Goop said over and over that Cadman didn't know who Sullivan was. Now we know he was a dick to Sullivan even after he did know.

      Fuck Bill Cadman.
