    1. While adverse possession cases make the news in Boulder, they are not at all uncommon in rural areas in Colorado.  I finished defending one last week and have another brewing.

Colorado is one of the few Torrens states left.  A Torrens title is title to land perfected via a court order that make the title immune from adverse possession claims.  Unfortunately, few people spend the time or money necessary to perfect title in this manner.

In my opinion, adverse possession ought to be harder to perfect than it is.

An enlighted legislator (if there are any these days) ought to introduce legislation in the next session that either (1) makes Torrens registration simpler and cheaper; and/or (2) requires adverse possession claimants to record their claim to the property they seek to possess similar to how a lis pendens notice of pending lawsuits affecting real property is recorded today.  Such a recording would give public notice of the adverse claim.  Then, if the recorded claim is not challenged for the statutory period (18 years), a claim for adverse possession can proceed.

    1. but these polls never include anything touching on leadership qualities.  As a  Progressive Dem, for instance, I always wind up with Kucinich at or near the top on various quizzes but I don’t think he’d make a good President even if he had a snowball’s chance in hell.

He’s too much of a self righteous scold to be the kind of leader who could bring enough people along with him to get things done.  He seems to have little tolerance for any level of compromise or ability to charm or cajole and I wouldn’t trust his judgement in choosing the kind of inner circle who could help him achieve his aims.

Edwards is always the highest on my list among those who have any semblance of a real shot at it but never number one, though he is my strong preference.

    2. Then Gravel, Richardson.

Too bad Kucinich is a loon.  He’s a terrible spokesperson for some excellent ideas.

Thank god psycho Ron Paul wasn’t on my list!

      1. Actually, I agree in general principles with TT’s immigration concerns. Not some details or solutions, but the general principles.

But what a lousy leg.  Misses more votes than any other CO leg and has no concerns or bills other than immigration.

  1.    Looks like the U.S. Atty. filed a response to Corey Voorhis’ claim of selective prosecution, saying that the other two instances of NCIC computer access were different from Voorhis’ partisan activities.

The story in today’s Post also mentioned that Voorhis supposedly met with John Marshall and Alan Phipps during the ’06 campaign.

        Moonraker, care to comment?
