Bruce Backs Down

( – promoted by Colorado Pols)

The Gazette is reporting that, after stomping his foot repeatedly and throwing a temper-tantrum… Bruce will be sworn in.

http://www.gazette.com/article…

Bruce must ‘take the oath or take a hike’

While Bruce was agreeing to the time, the House Republican Caucus held a special session and voted 22-1 to ask the HD15 Vacancy Committee to send them another name to fill the seat if he did not take the oath today.

Added Rep. Jim Kerr, R-Littleton: “He can take the oath or take a hike.”

I’m glad he not MY representative. Shameful and childish behavior… to say the least.

  1. for stating that “no individual is greater than the office we represent or the constituents we represent.”

Makes me proud to be a GOPer today.

    1. This is precisely the correct stance for the Republican Caucus to take… and it sends a proper message to Bruce that while he just became a small fish in a big pond.

  2. For the House Republican Caucus.

And for Romanoff for following the rules.

I posted in the Monday thread that I heard word that Bruce kicked a RMN reporter. Based on the Gazette article, it really happened. If anyone on the committee that selected Bruce is on this list, I would love to hear what they think of him now.

  3. Did he step in it again?  I guess we’ll have to see if this is serious or not..

He also kicked a Rocky Mountain News photographer as the photographer took pictures of him during the morning prayer.

Anyway, I’m glad that the House Republicans sent him an unmistakable message, and I hope Bruce stops his childish crap

    1. He’s on the fast track to getting thrown out of the House almost as soon as he’s sworn in. Maybe the HD-15 vacancy committee knew this all along, and this was a roundabout route of getting Bruce out of elected office altogether.

    2. The local media would never report it, just like they don’t report any of the other stupid stuff he does.

Glad to see that the Denver media won’t pander to him.

  4. I had it all planned out to go the state house tomorrow morning with some friends. My sign was going to say “Taxation without Representation: Thanks Doug Bruce”. My friends were going to have the “HD-15 constituents against Doug Bruce”.

  5. Bruce absorbed most of the attention at the morning session of the House as he sat on the side bench waiting to be called.

This will be an interesting session.

    1. May you live in interesting times.

Wouldn’t it fun to read that our state legislators agreed to spend the next 120 days doing the peoples business rather than trying to play election tricks on each other.  Actually work on developing workable solutions to the pressing issues of our times rather than finagling for permanent power.  It certainly looks promising to see an arrogant individual brought to heel by a functioning institution.

  6. for fisticuffs to break out among legislators. We’ve all seen it on the news. Seems that it often results in someone removing their shoe and striking a peer. Maybe the CO legislature will be more interesting this year.

    1. let us thank Bruce for lowering the bar of common decency today.  Now we too can look like a fucked up country where elected officials throw punches at each other.

  7. Has been able to bully a lot of people.  He just found out that he is not going to be able to get away with that in the Statehouse.  He is going to be the new Charlie Duke.  Way out there and ineffective.

Way to stand up to him guys!
