Was there ever anything more pathetic than Rove's performance on election night 2012 refusing to accept the Fox call for Obama? One could almost feel sorry for him if he weren't such an execrable creature.

My only complaint with this piece is the use of the word embattled. There is a proper order of escalation to describe the fall of a political candidate. First he's controversial, then he becomes beleagured. Only after that is it proper to call him embattled. The next step is gone; as in resigned or was ignominiously defeated. I have seen this progression play out many times in the last few years and I'm convinced it's in some publisher's stylebook somewhere.
Why doesn't the Colorado Pols simply call the Brown Palace and ask?
