  1. BTW a really weird thing happened to me at the site yesterday. Not only did it give me an error mesage whe I tried to post but the picture of Romanoff suddenly replaced the diary pics on screen. Once again, a few minutes later and it was fine. Hope nothing like that happened to David or you guys are in big trouble.

    1. cache…..and bad code. I've posted comments and it'll say "This comment is already posted."………which it was, a millisecond before by the same click.

  2. Scott Gessler trying to get a raise and promotion out of Colorado's voters, but we must never forget the fraud he perpetrated on us with his phony "voter fraud" accusations:

We've got a new number on just how extensive America's voter fraud problem really is. Hold on to your hats, folks, because that number is: 31.

I’ve been tracking allegations of fraud for years now, including the fraud ID laws are designed to stop. In 2008, when the Supreme Court weighed in on voter ID, I looked at every single allegation put before the Court. And since then, I’ve been following reports wherever they crop up.

To be clear, I’m not just talking about prosecutions. I track any specific, credible allegation that someone may have pretended to be someone else at the polls, in any way that an ID law could fix.

So far, I’ve found about 31 different incidents (some of which involve multiple ballots) since 2000, anywhere in the country.

That's not 31 proven incidents in the last 14 years, that's 31 possible incidents—some or most of them could be the result of clerical errors, like people signing the poll books on the wrong lines. That's what the conservative obsession with voter ID laws seeks to tamp down on. Having politicians pay people to vote, or having "charity" organizations be front organizations for political operations, or having candidates funded wholesale by corporate lobbies, all of that pales in comparison to making sure those 31 people (maybe) get what's coming to them.

Hope that includes Ann Coulter's fraudulent voting incident and the others mostly committed by R's.

    1. I saw the same figure a couple of times yesterday in different stories that popped up on my homepage, Zap. I think one of them was from Politico.

  3. Sen. Mark Udall (D-CO) remains a formidable candidate, and Colorado is another place where Republicans have had recent difficulties in winning big statewide races. We also do not yet know the effect of the state’s new all-mail balloting, but it could very well have the effect of helping Democrats generate a bit higher turnout than one would expect in a midterm year. Also, polls in Colorado tend to understate Democratic performance: The final HuffPost Pollster average of Colorado in 2012 showed Obama up just 1.7 points on Romney (Obama won by 5.4 points) and, in the 2010 Senate race, Ken Buck (R) was up 1.4 points in the final polls, but Sen. Michael Bennet (D) ended up winning by 1.7 points. Udall and Gardner are essentially tied in the most recent poll averages, but we still narrowly favor the incumbent at the moment.

  4. Mike Kopp filling in for Dan Caplis on KNUS 710 this morning.  Hard hitting interview with Cory Gardner.  Mike dared to ask the controversial question everyone has been waiting for: "Why are you such a bouyant personality?"

    Barf.

    1. What shocked you the most Moddy, the fact they made a mistake, or the fact that they had the professional integrity to issue a correction?

Professional integrity, acknowledging mistakes — let those words roll around in your noggin — I know, it'll be a new experience for you.

  5. John Walsh does the right thing, drops re-election bid to allow MT Dems a chance to replace him as their candidate.  NY Times reports replacement will be selected on Aug. 16 at a state convention.  Maybe ex-governor Schweitzer will run……

He took one for the team which is commendable.  Too bad the CO GOP couldn't have pulled something like that off 4 years ago when "Musings on Waters" became a best seller.  What might have been if they could have put Josh Penry in as their candidate…….

    1. Penry just might have pulled it off, though Hick right then was a formidable candidate.  When it comes to bright new faces like Penry, GOP seems paralyzed by fear of success.
