“The fibers of all things have their tension and are strained like the strings of an instrument.”

Gazette sends the Wahmbulance to rescue Walker Stapleton:

Funny how sometimes the editorial in your favor makes you look worse…
yeah saw that. They'll defend any winger for almost anything.
And about that Harvard MBA. Ivy League schools have legacy admissions, affirmative action for people from the "right" alum families. See cousin GW. He had to go Ivy League for both undergrad and grad because he couldn't get admitted to a top tier Texas state university where he lacked the legacy and wealthy contributor advantage. Schools like Harvard and Yale won't go so far as to admit silver spoon legacy C students into, say, law school but throwing them the MBA bone is seen as a safe way of pleasing the wealthy powerful alum families without hurting the schools academic prestige. Kind of like letting them major in basket weaving.
Texas Takers (you have to declare local disaster before the feds will come in):
I still hoped they would've seceeded from the union by now.
I'm sure all those affected know how to spend their own money better than the government does. Besides, they're freedom loving, completely independent, self reliant, hand out spurning, big tough Texans. I’m sure they can all use their own money to their own best advantage and take care of this themselves better than the stupid ol' government can. Moreover I'm sure they'd all disapprove of Texas being a worthless "taker" getting more back from the feds than the state pays in, relying on taking money out of the pockets of tax payers in those un-American sissy lib blue states. Right?
It is sad that there are so many people in Texas who do not fit the profile of the red-necks who run the place. Because my late mother relocated to Texas about 40 years ago, I have had the occasion to spend a significant amount of time in the Lone Star State. There are millions of progressive Texans…but, obviously, even more ignorant, hateful, goobers….
We have wonderful friends in Texas, too. Too bad they are such a minority as to be powerless.
