Revealed: Palin the censor

( – promoted by Colorado Pols)

Says Time:

Stein says that as mayor, Palin continued to inject religious beliefs into her policy at times. “She asked the library how she could go about banning books,” he says, because some voters thought they had inappropriate language in them. “The librarian was aghast.” That woman, Mary Ellen Baker, couldn’t be reached for comment, but news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire Baker for not giving “full support” to the mayor.

Great, just what the White House needs.

H/T to SLOG.

  1. Why would anyone, Repub or Dem or Indy want a person that wants to ban books anywhere near the White House?

Has anyone read a history book lately – this type of thought process doesn’t work.  It has been tried and failed more times than I can recall throughout history.

Please someone talk some sense into these people – are they crazy!!!!

Please put this on the front page – our way of life is at stake!!!!!

  2. We now have trooper-gate being investigated by the far from liberal Alaska state legislature, the  preacher who thinks people who criticized Bush after Katrina should go to hell, a professed belief that we are warriors for God, doing God’s will in the middle east, the Matanuska Maid Dairy incident and her connection with a party that believes Alaska ought to secede from the United States.

Am I missing anything? I feel sure I’ve let one or two of the past three short day’s controversies slip and I’m not even counting the poor little pregnant daughter although I do think the idea of marrying off a pregnant 17 year old is pretty strange in this day and age.

Oh, she left her tiny little town in 20 million worth of debt as mayor.  I suppose the involvement with a 527 for Sen. Stevens who she supposedly was bravely standing up to is worth mentioning.  All this and no experience outside of a state with fewer people than 19 American cities.

Not to mention the unbuttoned shirt and huge hoop earrings she appeared in as VP pick, very professional looking.  All she needed was a wad of gum. Sorry if that sounds elitist but we are talking about the potential leader of the free world here.

I don’t care how the Republicans try to spin her, she is not remotely, REMOTELY imaginable as VP. Great pick, McCain.

    1. Her involvement with the lobbyist tied to “Team Abramoff,” which will have special resonance here in Colorado in another week or two.

And tonight, both Leno and Letterman cracked the same joke: “A vice president who’s an avid hunter? What could possibly go wrong with that …”

But let’s stick to the issues, not the US Weekly distractions: She opposes abortion even (perhaps especially) in the case of rape and incest. That by itself is enough.

      1. who thinks that women who are raped, or molested by family members, should be forced to bear their rapists’ babies is completely out of their mind.
